What is the worth of buying AH-1Z..? We should learn from history how US reject to provide us spare parts etc.. I think we should invest money on Russian stuff MI-35M and couple of night hunters and may be we sign an agreement of joint production of Z-10 in near future..

PA is not confused, It can't be rushed, it takes about half a decade at least to finalize and then the Army has to live with that decision for the next two decades at minimum.

Then, this is wrong policy. ...Time is money, and it will cost us double or may be triple ....Same as 2003 was best time of Rafale for India.. ,Due to Such long process and huge delay they have to pay price of 5th Gen fighter for the 4.5 gen tech. Man,Time is money.
It applies everywhere. There is always a limit...Over Delay is not option for us.

Why? Because we operates cobra and are well aware of it. Now how it operates and also technical stuff. Mi 35 is not meant to be a front line gun ship. This role will be played by bikers or thunder bolts. Mi 35 May be required for guarding CPEC via special forces. Other then that it has no specified role to play. That's why it can be put on halt for some time

There is a big difference between role and task of MI-35 s and AH-1Zs/WZ-10s. MI-35s are Heavy Attack, Heavy Lift cum Transport helicopters which are used not only for sustained attack but also for dropping commandos for special ops where by ensuring their safety during drop and way back. AH-1Zs/WZ-10s fall in the category of light attack helicopters. One way or the other Pakistan has to go for the MI-35s given in current the circumstances.

It is not a big deal to operate Russian stuff like night hunters or even Chinese we are already operating Mi-17 etc, + cost is also a deal for US AH-1Z and spare parts maintenance etc. Cobras are now history, we should think for future, I perfer russian staff over US or ToT with chinese. Is it not double standards of US to sell Apache and Chinook to India and lollipop to Pakistan why should we buy from them...!

That's what i am saying PAA should go for MI-35M and reject US proposal for light attack we have Chinese option or may be night hunter. Dealing with Russia and rejecting US ll help to shift power center and Russian relations, i doubt PA is not ready to do this..!

MI-35s may come in but after a while.Currently we need brisk inductions which would spare the lengthy qualification and training cycle.Our PAA pilots and technicians are quite accustomed to AH-1s and hence would not take much longer for the new arrivals to be deployed in the field. AH-1s were basically inducted for any possible battle in the deserts of Thar or Cholistan and they were dubbed as "Desert Fox" for same reasons as the can briskly maneuver up and down the sand dunes there.Just like we can not deny the importance of F-16s esp the block 52s, we also can not abandon AH-1s just like that.

Its easier to say from a singular perspective but defence procurement is a very time staking procedure, there are a hundred different angles which need to be explored for an effective cost-benefit analysis, ranging from unit cost to parts, maintenance, TOT Prospects, Payment Options and much more.
