Home Depot tried the Chinese market and failed. Not because Home Depot itself is a flawed concept. In America, 99.999% of home owners engages in some measure of improving their homes -- ON THEIR OWN. Hence, the do-it-yourself (DIY) concept that created Home Depot.Hello my friend! My words speak of result. We could care less about anyone said. We are a result speaking people. LOL
Our leadership has a direct interest in protecting our country because their survival depends on it. Why we should not support? Joke? LOL
With over billion people and million small to medium size businesses, there is going to be a loophole. What's important is we are trying to fix the problem as it presents itself. Any country during their development phase will experience similar event.
Come one my friend, don't you know your country in Vietnam is a hell hole? Why aren't you doing something to help them? LOL
You tried to cast Americans as lazy, but in reality...

Home Depot failed in China because the store's leadership failed to understand the IMMATURITY that is currently in the Chinese people once they are exposed to the outside world. The modern capitalistic and image worrying Chinese sees any kind of manual labor, even when for the sake of one's home, belongs to a lower class of people. So do not tell us that you Chinese do not care what foreigners says about China when what you say about yourselves -- as a people -- reveals to us by way of an example like Home Depot. In America, working on one's own home is a mark of pride. I wish I have skills beyond my garage door. But in China, apparently manual labor on behalf of one's own home to improve it, no matter how little by little and day by day, is a mark of shame. Better to hire someone else willing to lower himself to that class, no ?Home Depot conceded that it misread the country's appetite for do-it-yourself products. "The market trend says this is more of a do-it-for-me culture," a Home Depot spokeswoman said of China.
Why is China the world's largest consumer of high end brands like Louis Vuitton ? Because the world's opinion is that the brand is worthwhile owning. If you Chinese do not care, the brand would not be making boatloads of money from the Chinese people. You boast about how you Chinese are 'sophisticated' enough to brandish luxury luggage and import Italian performance autos, but then turn around and say you do not care what others say about you ?
