Obama plans Pak visit

ISLAMABAD: The US President-elect, Barack Obama, is likely to visit Pakistan early next year after taking oath of office. He will also make an announcement regarding change in the outlook of the ongoing war on terror as part of his first 100-day programme in the White House.

Diplomatic sources privy to the president-elect’s team told this scribe on Wednesday evening that Barack Obama would visit Pakistan early next year soon after assuming office to discuss the war on terror with the Pakistan leadership. He would also visit Afghanistan to meet US troops. The decision to include Pakistan in the itinerary of the president would be taken in a couple of days.

“The US president-elect would like to fight the war on terror as a true war against the terrorists and not against the Muslim as being widely perceived since he does not believe in taking on any community on the basis of its beliefs”.

So is Obama going to visit Pakistan before India?. If so, be sure there is going to be a field day.

I think he should do away from earlier practice of Visiting India and Pakistan in same trip.
