NY Times Front Page: Persecution of Indian Christians

Many among who are converted to Christianity here in India, are those who can't write their own names
What do you think should be the minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for conversion?

They are desperately poor and illiterate who often blackmailed by Christian missionaries to convert to avail some kind of assistance.
Since they are so vulenrable their right to vote must also be taken away lest their ignorance is abused by a crooked politician who gives them false hopes

PDF people might hate me for saying this but I will concede that Abrahamic religions are very exclusionary and judgmental. I had thought better of Hinduism and Buddhism--the so-called 'Dharmic' religions. But why is Hinduism like so violent in India now? What could a tiny Christian population do against a vast majority of Hindus in India??
The violence has actually curbed down. It's just in SM era it is being amplified more. Few years back riots b/w Hindus and Muslims used to be quite frequent. Not now. Hate speeches are nothing new at all.
Christian proselytization (aided by missionaries) is a huge threat to indigenous faiths and customs, look at the demographics of Nagaland today.

“But why is it that only the most illiterate and poor convert?

The lowest castes will convert. Common sense. They are the least educated, most poor and systematically oppressed. They want to escape their caste.

Many among who are converted to Christianity here in India, are those who can't write their own names let alone write Jesus.

I just told you this is not a criteria for being a christian, you don't need to speak english and you don't even need to read or write, if someone tells you something and it makes sense to you and you accept it, thats it.

often blackmailed by Christian missionaries

sounds like BS, maybe some of them didn't like being what they were before and maybe they saw that some the christian community helps each other and they decided to be a part of that community, maybe they didn't want to be seen as "lower caste" by other hindus, thats not blackmail.

none of this is legitimate for bajrang dal people to go around harassing people and burning missionaries alive.
