Now, a machine that makes drinking water from thin air

This is essentially a de humidifier. It can be bought in many stores already. Basically after it runs for a day or 2 depending on how humid it is and you end up with a bucket full of water. It is not purified but you can do that by running it through your own filter or by boiling it.

But This system can produces 250-800 litres of potable water a day depending on temperature and humidity conditions.

Using photovoltaic panels to generate electricy to power up heat-pump which will cool down the condensor can work.

Also this device won't work on deserts, dry areas. That's why they mention India which has a humid climate.

But if they can't build themselves water disturibiton network(as i don't think India has a shortage of water), how can they afford this system. ?

well sucking water out of air is not a new thing just you got to put some purifier in it and you have now water to drink .

A lot of people use this machine to dry their flats , generally new flats and places like Belgium .
