The American aerospace and defence tech company Northrop Grumman Corporation is eager to do business with the Indian armed forces and has offered its all-weather airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to the Indian Navy.
Andrew Tyler, Chief Executive (Europe), Northrop
Grumman, said the company was keen on developing its presence in India through strategic industrial partnerships.

Better stick to the Israeli. Hackeye is very advance radar, but India too don't have any intention to buy US Aegis. Indian Navy have their own BMS and Survellance Design, and soon will be adding its own satellite survellance.

Big question -- Which platform for Indian Aircraft carrier to carry AWAAC.

Indian navy want E-2D like AEW system for Ins Vishaal. Also Indian navy is very keen to have its own shore based AEW systems.

Dude this Operates from Carrier.. IN will take the offer once the IAC2 gets ready

And that Is atleast a decade away....woo its looks like U.S is getting familiar with our Babu's way of doing buisness...

Yes i think it'll be inducted by 2025... they've been offering this system since 2010-12 i think.. its a very damn good system.. it would've been inducted by Navy if viki(if russians allow) or IAC-1could launch them

Yes they have offered this because Indian navy issued a RFI asking about similar AEW systems. They initially offered E-2C but Indian navy wasn't positive so only then they offered E-2D. Apart from India only UAE was offered E-2D advanced hawkeye systems back then. Not sure now.

They are mainly intended for Ins Vishaal which is atleast 10 years away so at this point of time its just an offer....We may buy them at later stage. By the way few shore based AEW systems wont be bad.

Is shore based really necessary?? IAF's and Navy P-8's are there right... Yes we might need few for A&N but both western and eastern fleets are well covered by P-8 and IAF"S Awacs right...
