Not really. Mahatma Gandhi is idolized here so people who look like him are taken to be pacifist traders who seek justice People from South Asia are not regarded as colonialists. Their presence (Chinese and Indian emigrants since the late 1700s) has made them accepted. Islamic and Hindu cultural movements run by South Asian descendants do a lot of charitable work and promote our image here. Those are amongst a few reasons
