No US carrier strike group in Western Pacific

The combatant command “requires highly survivable, precision-strike networks along the First Island Chain, featuring increased quantities of allied ground-based weapons,” Davidson wrote. “These networks are operationally decentralized and geographically dispersed along the archipelagos of the Western Pacific to deter and defend, by reversing any anti-access and aerial-denial (A2/AD) capabilities intended to limit U.S. freedom of action or access to vital waterways and airspace.”

Nearly $6 billion would be invested into those networks

No one gives a damn about the Scarborough Shoal. That hasn't fundamentally altered the balance of power in the Western Pacific. Meanwhile, a successful invasion of Taiwan by China would. This must be difficult for you to grasp. There is no comparison between the two.

You can keep yapping all you want abut a worthless sand dune, while the US reinforces its defense posture in the Western Pacific in the coming years. US lethality is set to increase exponentially. Meanwhile, Taiwan continues life as a de facto independent state.

Except fake news Gulf of Tonkin incident, fake news Iraqi WMDs, and fake news Saddam-AlQaeda connection all managed to spark US appetite and aggression for real wars. At least a sand dune is more substantial than a pure figment of neocon imagination. History shows that if the US wants a war, it will take any pretext. The fact the US balked at war in 2012 and reneged on its treaty obligations to PH shows that it was deterred by China. And that has crippled perceptions of US reliability in Asia ever since.

It is on the wall that 1st Island Chain is no longer defensible in time of war. The Pentagon planners knew that.

No one is using nuke. So strategic bombers are there for aesthetic purposes.

Eventually all will be fighting conventional warfare. And F22 has very short radius. She need to fly from Guam.

China should work with Philippines, Thailand and South Korea to remove their American presence. That leaves only Japan, Australia and Guam.

China should make it very clear that any land in Asia used to launch strikes against China will be razed to the ground.

That's not even close to being accurate.
What's wrong with that. All what I said comes from US MOD official documents in public access.
  • Infantry battalions will go down to 21 from 24
  • Artillery batteries will go to five down from 21
  • Amphibious vehicle companies will go down to four from six
  • F-35B and F-35C Lightning II fighter squadrons will have less aircraft per unit, from 16 aircraft down to 10.
More importantly, they offload all heavy armour, which means they throw out the idea of amphibious landing against any serious adversary. They are not committed to fight China, their long term commitment in the pacific theatre is defence only.

I hope US won't miscalculate, any wrong move will mean the destruction of the world.

China can lure Philippines and Thailand. But zero chance to lure Korea. They hate chinese more than Japanese. The Japanese hate Koreans more than Chinese. Actually every country in East Asia hate each other. Vietnamese hate chinese more than Koreans. hopeless case. An Asian EU is a distant dream. Maybe a chance for unity after WWIII in East Asia.

The US Marines aren’t the US Army. They don’t need heavy armor and short range artillery. The Marines new strategy is based around long range precision fire networks dispersed along the first island chain and rapid deployment and dispersement from island to island. US Marines long range precision fires are set to increase by 300%. We’re not invading China. We just need to cripple the Chinese Navy and Air Force. China can’t project power without the two.

Cripple, you think war with China is a game? US can fight small terrorist countries or Iraq not the second most powerful nation on earth. The damage would be so huge, Russia will even join the melee when you cross the Yalu. Trump can threaten to attack NK, but lil Kim knows it well that US won't touch a single hair.

From my personal experience, the Koreans that I met during my tenure in Taiwan, had hate boner for Japanese.Koreans looked down upon Chinese but don't really carry the inherent hate that they have toward the Japanese.
Both Chinese and Korean gov had invested a substantial amount in anti-Japanese propaganda for the past 3-4 decades.
Now , anti -japanese activism has spiraled out of control and turned into a powerful political implement in the Korean political scene.

As someone who hate western hegemony in Asia, wish that China would drop the needless vindictive attitude toward Japanese ,so that the Americans would have no excuse to occupy Japanese islands .

It’s not a game, it’s the new US strategy. The US Marines and Army will operate highly survivable long range precision strike networks and integrated air defense systems along the first island chain. A mixture of advanced anti ship missiles, Precision Strike Missiles, cruise missiles, future intermediate range ballistic missiles, and hypersonic missiles. US submarines will also be operating forward.

The second island chain will host the much larger force of the US Navy and Air Force. They will operate out of the range of most Chinese ballistic missiles, providing long range strike from stealth aircraft and ships. JASSM-ER, JASSM-XR, Maritime Strike Tomahawk, LRASM, SM-6, and hypersonic missiles will feature prominently.

Remember, all the US has to do is deny China from achieving its objective. We don’t have to invade you. And Chinas merchant fleet will be at high risk as well.
