No, the Kashmir conflict is not experiencing an ideological shift

Sadly it is.But there might be hope for them, the greater prosecution they endure and the more hatred they see their "fellow" countrymen spew out online about their beliefs just like the many here, they'll start to fight back. You see Indian Hindus as the most vociferous anti- Islam voices and they like the most anti-Islam posts. The Indian muslims are noticing it and while right now they are expressing disbelief and mild disgust at it, their love for their country will eventually falter in the face of almost Nazi level hatred by their fellow countrymen.

Wrong analysis. And online 'Indians' don't represent India

The reason why there is no extremist tendency among Indian Muslims is because they know that majority of Indian are secular, and would support them. This is something of a tradition that is coming since last 5000 years. People in India have been accommodative of others and their faiths. That is why India is pluralistic and diverse. When people say India changes every 100 KM, you believe it or not, it is true.

If BJP cannot create jobs and grow economy...they will loose the next election in spite of Ram Mandir and Cow.

.
Some of the points raised by Cherokee is true. BJP must concentrate on development. If they want to push Hindutva, it should be limited to Ram temple. Already many muslims have resigned to the fact that Ram temple can bring peace there.

Other than that, maybe nationalism, BJP should not concentrate on items such as beef, gau rakshas etc. Infact anti social elements must be clamped down on their necks. And it must make sure it never aligns with other worthless right wing hindutva groups.

Beef and Cow slaughter guezzette has been in two courts .Supreme Courts and Kerala High Court but what happened ?
In Kerala petitioners were severly scolded by court and forced to withdraw the petition.
One decade ago , US sectretary Collin Powell made a statement about Abu Musab Al Sarkawi in UN.Until then he was just a thug that roam around AlQeada .Aftet that he became more precious than OBL.
Why?
Because of that statement in UN and unnecessary importance .
When a thug attacks a man in the name of beef ,just complaint about him to police .If they are helpless then directly to Court .That is the law .

Giving a headlines and hero aura will only attracts anti social elements in to this stupidity .
Because now people are more cares about attention .Methods are not a problem

And that is the duty of state govts ,if there is anything .It is part of politics .During UPA time it was minority appeasement.

I am against minority appeasement, but it is also wrong to pit majority vs minority to get votes.

The need of the hour is development for all, and not divide and conquer.

Hindus themselves are divided let alone Conquer

Not at all, I studied with those Kashmiris who came on an Indian passport and had no inhibitions of independence or otherwise. It their word of the changing landscape under Modis extremism fuelled Indian population that defines the perception. It is the view of many more educated Indians I know directly that their nation is compromising its core values under the guise of progress and "unity".

Today's Indian Muslim is considered a walking threat unless he bellows Vande Mataram more loudly than anyone else and openly renounces his religious practices

Kashmiris?
There is nothing to talk about it because we knows what would be its end.We have Muslims leaders in here that claimed 150 million Muslims can kill 1000 million Hindus if we want .
But do we need to care ?I dont think so.
I am living in this nation .
Here each and every Indians aware about who is wrong and who is right .
That is why even Muslim womens vote for BJP in UP.

Muslims are safer in India than in Pakistan.

The findings of the 2016 Ipsos MORI Perils of Perception Survey released on Wednesday show that Indian respondents mistakenly thought that Muslims make up twice as much (28%) of the population than they actually do (14.2%). Many developed countries were much worse off, with French respondents estimating that there were more than four times as many Muslims in their country (31%) as there really are (7.5%). Muslim-majority Indonesia and Turkey were the only two of the 40 countries that underestimated the Muslim population.

For the Indian sample, the survey was conducted on 500 individuals aged 18-64 between 22 September and 6 November. As the poll was conducted online, the sample was better educated and more well-off than the average Indian but was weighted to the known population profile, an Ipsos representative said.

Fear-mongering about Muslim presence in a country appears to have successfully created a strong misconception about a Muslim population explosion. Every country except Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkey, significantly overestimates the likely Muslim population in 2020; in India, respondents thought that more than one of every three people in 2020 would be Muslim while the actual share is likely to be less than half of that at 15.4%.

Indians were also significantly off the mark in guessing the share of GDP that the government spends on health; while the actual spending is less than 5% of the GDP, the survey respondents charitably estimated it at 23%.

Indians were the most far off among all countries in guessing the share of wealth held by the country's rich and poor. While the poorest 70% of Indians hold just 10% of household wealth, the Indian respondents' average guess was 39%.

Indians were also way off the mark in estimating the share of Indians who own their own homes. While the actual figure is 87%--driven largely by the fact that renting is rare in rural India and among non-migrants--the Indians surveyed believed this figure was 44%.

The index was calculated based on the magnitude of error between the average guess and the real number for five factual questions. India also ranked as the second most ignorant in 2015, after Mexico. This year, China, Taiwan, South Africa and the US followed India.

What Ipsos calls "ignorance" could well be lack of access to education or the media. "There are multiple reasons for these errors – from our struggle with simple maths and proportions, to media coverage of issues, to social psychology explanations of our mental shortcuts or biases, " said Bobby Duffy, Managing Director of Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute . "It is also clear from our "Index of Ignorance" that the countries who tend to do worst have relatively low internet penetrations: given this is an online survey, this will reflect the fact that this more middle-class and connected population think the rest of their countries are more like them than they really are."

perceptions tested against reality about muslims in india..

In my opinion basically world is not ignoring india in reality according to this report.. it's india ignoring & manipulating the facts about muslims population living inside india, france and other nations are also following the same footprints of india's monopoly and lobby about muslims in their country. this type of ignorance for india is not either fruitful for muslims and for india too. this report shows that india is actively ignoring muslims rights bit by bit in india

Its not daily yet but its astronomically higher than under any administration and will continue to rise. That being said even if it was daily what would have changed in your stance . You would have claimed that people die in road accidents daily to protect the kamal . Keep doing that . I am out .

Lets do this . We will take a three year rule under congress any time period and then this three year rule of modijee and compare stats of cow lynching . We all know the results right :D .

Bro, gau raksha is extremely old.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cow_protection_movement

The govt will allow it so simmer at the top while keeping the people distracted from core issues. Then the govt will simply convert beef ban into a state related subject and life will continue as usual.

. .
I am talking about backing your statement that lynching news was replaced by corruption news . You are yet to provide anything to back that claim of yours .

Oh well .I am not working in this media ,nor I am a journalist that visits media houses to witness what happened in there. But this is the reality .The one I posted here was to prove their unprofessionalism.

We are ignorant ,we are this bad and very bad .Suppose we agree with your assumptions .Then I have two question to ask
1.Why there is a lots of minorities from Pakistan opts to come and settle in India s asylum seekers while there is not such single incident that those minorities in India takes asylum in Pakistan?
2.All we can see is every growing ,diplomatical, cultural influence of India that spanning across the world .Millions of tourists opts India why ?

I sincerely hope you are right because my real world friends are nervous for the first time about Indian society

.
This Cow shit and useless goondaism was already in there even before BJP ,perhaps even before independence .
Now it is popular because BJP is ruiling .
When it is UPA it was corruption .
Media is the key to perception. You won't hear anything about 100s of Kms away unless its reported in the media. And we all know about the relationship of UPA and their pet media houses :-). Media sets the narrative, we have already seen how two similar incidents are reported differently to suit their agenda. Nowadays, media personnel are more concerned about themselves, anything they tell you is a fact and everything common citizen replies back is false and trolling. You don't see how ironic it is that Congress which first banned Cow slaughter now suddenly cares about freedom of expression? Personally, I am not a religious person, barely visited temples in my life, and I don't care a bit if cow is slaughtered or eaten, and I know most Hindus don't care, and this is coming from someone who seen his grandmother always taking care of cows, bad thing that she spends most of her time in hospital now, but good that she is away from this sick media. What irks me the most is hypocrisy of media when it comes to sentimental issue of cow vs prophets and books. I know for fact that Muslims are intolerant and mostly are closet extremists (ironically they call themselves liberals, maybe thats the real definition of an Indian liberal?), they can't tolerate any word against their holy book and the prophet, and I don't expect them to become tolerant either. Atleast media should stop having double standards on these issues, but they won't since it does not suit their narrative of rising intolerance. Another thing about the Indian media and Indian left is they love to bash all Hindus for anything a random person does to any other random person, forcing even a moderate Hindu towards extremism. Have you ever seen western media ever bashing Christianity for what a random person did? Its a norm to bash Hindus in India for everything. Better start to become a hypocrite than to remain a fool my dear friend :-).
