You my good sir, is opening a pandora's box here.. If what you claim can be substantiated even partially beyond those 2 news of flag and GB merger or CPEC asking Pak to sort , will lead to some more clarity from ambiguous position
Just for information, IMHO the CPEC issue is more of international issue of AJK and the whole pathway into Pakistan. I do remember reading some place that China had issues with J&K staple visa for some time before we sorted it out yet Arab countries still give Stapled Visa to AJK ppl (i think Saudi Arabia if i remember).. The CPEC passing through AJK/GB region is widely seen as passing through disputed territory.. Even if tomo such a mega infrastructure development takes place in J&K, the investor will feel jittery as even J&K internationally is a disputed unsolved reason for numerous Wars between India and Pakistan.
But what if your description is turned into reality? A good thought but a common currency will wreak havoc.. look at Euro.. Producers and Consumers both sides struggling.. UK PM Cameron is going for a referendum about exiting Euro in 2016 (if my news items are correct).. I think the SAARC model has already too many flaws in it..
Still i would love to hear and read a detailed analysis form your side.. Pandora's box in true sense.
The info is from a source not directly involved with these back channel discussions. Hence we cannot take it at face value. Yes there are surely pitfalls and there is no guarantee the implementation would go as planned.
As I understand, there is no contention on GB merging with Pakistan or Jammu/Ladakh with India.
Even though in principle AJK/Kashmir valley merger has been agreed, the details are still being agreed upon
Two proposals floating around
1) A single Independent Autonomous unit with joint control (which I personally think would be a failure)
2) Two separate Autonomous units under India and Pakistan with visa free regime.(which I think is more practical). Note that the visa free regime would be limited to the movement of people between AJK & Kashmir valley only.
With regards to the Single currency, It is already happening. SAARC single currency would be implemented prior to the Kashmir deal implementation.
