GREATER NOIDA: India has no reason to distrust Pakistan's assurance that it will take effective action on inputs given about the perpetrators of the Pathankot terror attack, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today.

"Pakistan government has said it will take effective action. I think we should wait," Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

Singh said since Pakistan has given the assurance to the Indian government, there should be no reason to disbelieve
them so early.

"There is no reason to distrust (avishvaas) them (Pakistan) so early," he said.

After the attack, India had said it has provided to Pakistan actionable intelligence to act upon the perpetrators of the terrorist act.

During a post-attack telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, the government had said that "our Prime Minister very strongly urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to take action ..

"Actionable intelligence in regard to the terrorist attack and the links with the perpetrators in Pakistan were provided to the Pakistani side. The Pakistan Prime Minister promised us prompt and decisive action. We now wait that prompt and decisive action," it had said.

Reports from Pakistan yesterday said law enforcement agencies have picked up "some suspects" connected to Pathankot airbase attack from Bahwalapur district, the hometown of Maulana Masood Azhar, chief of banned terror
outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.

India has identified Masood Azhar as mastermind of the attack. It also blamed his brother Rauf and five others for carrying out the attack that left all six terrorists and seven Indian soldiers dead on January 2.

It has provided telephone number in Pakistan contacted by the airbase attackers and given other inputs.

India has called on Islamabad to act on the information if the Foreign Secretary-level talks are to take place as scheduled on 15th January

Don't let the flame baiting media disrupt the good work done to built a rapport between PM NaMo and PM NS

At the same time, we should try and provide all evidencesbof irrefutable nature which stands good in Indian judiciary as well as other countries say USA, French or UK

It would be interesting what outcome we get for the interpol notice which may help us narrow down our search further... But that identification based on say facial recognition should yield results in a fortnight. Don't know how many of those may be in any records though.

Perhaps we can check with multiple countries for say surveillance done in airports at least major airports.. That may take time but we can have a more sizeable lead via that but it's a time consuming process again.

Good to hear Home Minister has confidence on PM NS words of impartial probe and action.. But also keep sharing more findings and evidences to facilitate more actions by PM NS government

Don't blame the media. If this was a Congress govt saying stuff like this after a major terrorist attack BJP, bhakts and all the right wingers would have gone ape-shit over it. It is still relatively calm compared to that.

I think this is a stupid policy by Modi. We should not have any dealings with a poisonous neighbor.

But Congress Govt's motivation to talk would be different (Mullah love). This Govt.'s motivation is different (moolah love). Both are stupid solutions.

. . . . . .
do you really think that can be reason?

Yes. TAPI (which has US & Russian backing) and SCO (which has Russia & China backing) are the main reasons for Indo-Pak rapprochement. This path would be continued no matter how many more attacks we may have. The deal on Kashmir has also been done and it would be implemented completely within the next few years.

and what is that done deal on Kashmir?

and what is that done deal on Kashmir?

I have mentioned it on another post recently.

1) GB/North Areas would be merged with Pakistan.
2) Ladakh & Jammu would be merged with India
3) AJK & Kashmir valley would be merged under joint control of both countries. This region would a demilitarized zone with joint owner ship in foreign policy. Single currency is being implemented as part of SAARC and would be the same for this region too

The deal is done but the implementation is tricky as the hawks on both sides would have problems digesting it. Especially for Pakistan which supported non state actors. CPEC is being used the driver to implement so that hawks do not go ballistic on India or US.

Implementation news:

1) India formally objects to CPEC in GB, China asks Pakistan to sort out the issue. Pakistan is merging GB into Pakistan.

2) Kashmir has been given a new flag separate from rest of India

and what is that done deal on Kashmir?

There is no deal as there can be no deal. The two sides are oceans apart when it comes to the common ground in Kashmir. In addition any deal on Kashmir will have extremists on both sides frothing but more so in case of Pakistan where Kashmir is a cottage industry. I don't believe " they " will lay off the golden goose.

Well, let's see. Doval might know things we don't know.

Let's face it; we really don't have a choice. The third front would make Sonia look like Golda Meir.
