'Nineteen countries' shun Nobel

44 countries have said that they would attend. I would like to see that list.

now a days even terrorisum has a political meaning otherwise why would china jumping to support it..

I think India has still not decided what she would do, but I would agree with you, mostly I think India will attend.

yes , it's far better to attand then side with supporters of terrorisum..

india should attend this, its chinese govt problem and those who supporting china are not a majority . We have independent decison makers and their pay coming paid by GOI . We should look at our interest not china interest .

Nobel peace Prize should be named the Nobel prize for spreading unrest and war in the world

Obama and now this LIU XIAOBO

who's next ...Osama bin laden ?!?!

:) well in the past they were even thinking to award Bush so in front of Bush OBL looks innocent hence doesnt deserve the prize.

BTW apart from Literature and scientific categories all others are political and makes no sense in this award

It is in our interest to not attend the ceremony.

A friendly relationship with China is in the interest of India.

@Jack... but the decision to attend or not should be made on the basis of one's beliefs and values... and as a nation we believe in the democratic process and we should stand by its principles.

Chinese govt should realize that as a nation we fundamentally support democracy and our decision to attend the ceremony is just an underscore for the same beliefs. It should not be regarded as a rebuff to the Chinese govt... if they are mature enough they should realize that.

Again attend or don't attend but stop implying that China is some how acting childishly. This is a political attempt at embarrassing China, nothing more.
