Nigeria seeks Indian help to improve its Navy.

Yes, India needs to convince them that buying fighter jets (specifically the JF-17) is completely pointless for them and how critical it is that they expand their Navy first (i.e. until the LCA really comes on line), because Nigeria's biggest threat (the Boko Haram) can be completely handled by a Naval expansion while any necessary land/air based threat (hundreds of villages and tens of thousands of civilians) can certainly wait for another half a decade to a decade for the LCA.

India just needs to write a recommendation letter without any signature and official marking to Nigeria as It did with Srilanka and let Nigerians decide on their own-

Has Pakistan scraped Its Navy since It is too facing terrorism threat and 60000 people got killed ? Its their money let them decide-

Lol! They didn't wait to become Atomi Kuwat when people were hungry, terrorism etc. But they'd like Nigeria to take care of their poor first

Lol what a MORON. They're ahead of PAKISTAN in many many ways.

Their population is lesser than yours
Their GDP is more than twice as much as yours
Their Per Capita is almost three times yours
They have a current account surplus of $20 billion and yours is NEGAVTIVE
They're growing faster than you

Make no mistakes, they're already ahead in many indices, they'll be ahead of you in all indices pretty soon. Everyone in the world looks at them as a strong and growing economy. Everyone looks at the land of the pure as a joke, but when it comes talking big big things you have no problems in that department, all right.

You nailed it Mr. Guy... Haha !!

@Skull and Bones @Nilgiri this is the first all metal plane HAL has made in a long time. Distinct advantages if you build it with composites don't you think?

There are advantages with composites true, but I think they are fairly balanced with the negatives at this scale/utility. They are pretty high cost materials, so you need large aircraft to quickly get the long term cost savings returned. Also with a small trainer, making out of composites means you have to be very wary of fatigue and impact damage (which composites disguise to the naked eye very well), given the environment a trainer might find itself on the ground and in the air....and the serviceability rates you want with such aircraft.

Aluminium is the safer bet even today for small aircraft in this class....hence why tucano, pilatus etc are all also metal airframes primarily.
