To honour the works of Dr M Iqbal Chaudhary, a top class Nigerian institute has opened a research centre on Friday.

A senior official of ICCBS, Karachi University said:

“Iqbal Choudhary Centre for Natural Product Research (ICC-NPR) has been inaugurated in Benin, Nigeria during an international symposium on ‘Recent Discoveries in Natural Product Sciences’, where Prof Iqbal Choudhary, who is heading the country’s leading research establishment of ICCBS [International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences], was the guest speaker to deliver a keynote speech on natural product research at the Edo State Polytechnic Usen”

The research centre is a token of appreciation by Edo State Polytechnic Usen to Dr M Iqbal Chaudhary, having acknowledged his contributions to natural product research and drugs discovery as per his statement. The official at Karachi University further added on that the Governor of Edo state also presented the Distinguished Innovative Research and Achievement Award to the Pakistani scientist.

Dr M Iqbal Chaudhary has initiated numerous research centres in Pakistan and has also set up research units in South and Central Asia, as well as Africa. He has made academic services to the field of science, and due to his valuable efforts, he has often been rewarded with not only national but also international rewards.

He has more than 1,300 publications in fields of organic and bioorganic chemistry, has written 61 books and 40 chapters in books, all published by major US and European presses Citations 23,027 and h-index 62, he also has about 58 international or US patents. (Source: Google Scholar)

Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan, Karachi University Vice-Chancellor Professor and Professor Attaur Rahman, the former federal minister for science and technology and ex-chairman higher education commission, congratulated Dr Chaudhary and said that his achievement was a moment of pride for the entire university.

I my self did my Mphil research in natural products So I am aware about the contribution of Dr M Iqbal Chaudhary and Professor Attaur Rahman in this field.
 
i had the privilege of attending one of his workshops on drug delivery mechanism in quetta....
