4月初的一天黎明，京津走廊某地，一个由15辆轮式突击车组成的车队刺破晨雾高速驰骋。

战车飞驰，尘烟滚滚。细心的军迷们惊讶不已——这些外形霸气的战车见所未见，在网上搜索也无相关信息。人们的种种猜测，为这支队伍蒙上一层神秘的面纱。

坐在加装了防护装甲和防弹玻璃的车舱内，全副武装的三连官兵难掩激动之情。当然，他们为之激动的，绝非在军迷们面前炫酷，而是自身担负的特殊任务——3年前，他们受命进行新型步兵突击装备试训论证，为摩托化步兵转型发展探路。

跟踪试点任务的军事专家预言：这个连队的探索成果，将使步兵这一传统兵种在未来战场上的作用发生质的变化，将对我军摩托化步兵转型产生重要的示范意义。

按照总部的构想，新型步兵营有数十种火器，连属火器有10余种，其中每件装备在车上的固定、上下车的携带方法、不同位置的射击动作，每一项都要练1000次以上。有的装备没有实物，他们就用各种材料做成模型进行替代训练。
艰辛的付出，换来了丰收的喜悦——

2012年底，一份翔实的加改装论证报告上报总部，很快获得通过。

2013年7月，崭新的突击战车驶进营区，各种新装备陆续配发到位。

2013年底，实车加改装和车载信息系统联调联试完成，一个新型步兵分队初见雏形。

无人机的电池要定期充放电，否则很快报废；头盔夜视仪、多功能数字化侦察仪等光学设备经过曝晒就会失灵……官兵们在吃了亏之后，才摸透这些信息装备的脾气。

新型步兵到底新在哪？旅参谋长王中举介绍说，与传统步兵相比，新型步兵机动性更强，新式突击车时速可超百公里；火力更猛，增加了狙击枪、单兵火箭等近10种火器；信息融合能力今非昔比，增加了无人机、指挥信息系统等大批信息化装备……

[1]新型摩步连机动能力超强

北京军区某旅的这个新型摩步连,装备了15辆改进型国产猛士高机动装甲越野车,我军摩步连正常编制有9个步兵班,一个重火器班,一个饮事班,一个连部.全连15辆改进型国产猛士高机动装甲越野车推测分配如下:连部一辆车,九个步兵班各一辆车,重火器班二辆车,饮事班一辆车,一辆无人机侦察车,一辆通信车.全连实现车载化,由于新式猛士突击车时速可超百公里,与传统步兵相比，新型步兵机动性更强.

[2]新型摩步连车载火力超猛

在我军的传统步兵连,除9个步兵班外,还编有一个连属重火器班,由于改为车载新型摩步连,为步兵连换新型武器提供了物质条件.

[A]9个步兵班原装备的一具69-1式40火箭筒,由于各班都装备了一辆国产猛士高机动装甲越野车,这就为各步兵班换装一具98A式120火箭筒提供了可能,步兵班可以将120火箭筒在作战时,安装在车顶武器架上,也可以配用营用型120火的瞄具,在800米外对敌发起攻击.另外,由于有车载,每具120火箭筒的备弹数,可以有条件从人力携行的二发,増加为车载的4发. 这样一来,我军车载新型摩步连,可装备9具98A式120火箭筒,备弹36发大口径火箭弹, 如果各班车上还有空位,还可以装载几具80单兵一次火箭筒.

在我军传统步兵连,除9个步兵班外,还编有一个连属重火器班,目前该班分为二种武器配制.一种步兵连重火器班,装备2具87式35亳米自动榴弹发射器.还有一种步兵连重火器班,装备2门93式60亳米迫击炮.

如果是装备87式35亳米自动榴弹发射器的步兵连,改型为新型摩步连,那应该为连属重火器班,配备二辆国产猛士高机动装甲越野车.将原来适合步兵携行的87式35亳米自动榴弹发射器,换装为更适合车载作战的二具国产新型04式35亳米自动榴弹发射器,一辆车上装一具自动榴弹发射器,构成二辆连属火力支援车.由于04式35亳米自动榴弹发射器,采用弹箱供弹,[每箱30发],因此火力持续时间长,压制火力凶猛,作战时装它装在猛士高机动装甲越野车顶上,车箱中可以许多箱备用弹,为本连在800米距离上压制敌方火力点,再1750米以内大量杀伤敌集团有生力量.

如果还想加强火力的话,也可以在新型摩步连重火器班,配三具国产新型04式35亳米自动榴弹发射器,构成三辆连属火力支援车.作战时可分属三个步兵排提供排属支援重火力.

[3]新型摩步连侦察与信息融合能力今非昔:

我军这个由15辆国产猛士高机动装甲越野车组成的新型摩步连,除步兵班9辆车,重火器班3辆车外,肯定有一辆改装旳侦察车,该侦察车,除配备各种光学,红外,热成像,雷达,电视侦察仪器外,还特别强调配备了连级无人侦察机.连队自身情报获取能力得到强化,战场感知能力强.全连各车在2013年底,都加改装车载信息系统,并完成联调联试.我估计各车都装北斗二代卫星定位与三军数据链系统等大批信息化装备,我军新型摩步连信息融合能力今非昔比......

The gist of it is. This is on the new mechanized company.

-Every company of men gets 15 of these vehicles. They are bullet proof.

-Each Chinese company has 9 infantry squads, so one vehicle goes to the company command, every infantry squad gets one each, heavy fire support squad gets 2, support squad gets one and so does communication squad gets one and one for drone control squad.

(some wording may not match proper American terms, never was in American military)

- up to 9 type 98a, anti tank, with 4 rounds each.

may even add a few type 80 one off rocket launchers.

- type 04, 30 round grenade launcher are also going to be in the mix.

- new night vision, gps, and all kinds of goodies will be applied to every vehicle for combat in the information age, and to increase single company's effective information gathering ability. Drones will also be deployed per company.

Finally China has caught up to American light mechanized infantry standards. Good stuff, all we need is the new uniform, ZH-05 and the other infantry gear to show up and we are ready to go toe to to with the Americans on this front at least.

Vehicals cost more than a million Yuan or about 150,000 dollars per btw more or less. The days of cheap infantry gear and weapons is over.

yes, it's probably not roomy enough for 9, but here's my thing.

If an enemy rpg destroys one car, it kills 9. But if it only has 4 people in it, it only kills 4.

In any of China's wars against anyone not the US, we can't lose more than 1:50 ratio. Or it'll make us look ridicules, so spreading out the risks seems smarter.

It's also not decided I think, the article talks about still making adjustments like where to put all the stuff, what else is needed, even new equipments that's not ready for the army needs to be taken into account.

BTW, yea it is motorized infantry, not mechanized.

Looking at the American experience, there needs to be supply trucks that goes with these things to make them effective long range. So still a lot to be done.

let's take a look at some good body armour used by Chinese special forces. With now massive investment in military and increasing by the year, single soldier effectiveness and survivability are massively increased.

Let's take a look at new gun development for a standard motorized infantry.

This is a look at the standard squad.

from left to right, we got, rifleman, (to the back, with red letters) machine gunner, assistant machine gunner, rifleman, deputy squad leader(equiped with rifle grenade launcher), squad leader, rifle man, rocket launcher, assistant rocket launcher.

For a 9 men squad.

We See this rifle grenade launcher up close and personal.

What you are seeing here is the use of optical scopes, standard for infantry

I think this isn't night vision, but it needs batteries, not big on guns, what kind of scope is this?
