What's new

New threat for Pakistani AWACs emerging in India.

.
PAF has taught them more than what the student paid for, out of curriculum. Although, a sane person would expect PAF to showcase such abilities on 27 Feb some EW is a standard and so are supporting aircrafts, but India was either blind or its eyes were closed, now they aren’t sleeping.
Even though I disagree with your point of view but still if you are aware of this I am pretty sure that PAF is also aware of this fact and they are preparing for the next battle.

Col obviously they will not throw a brahmos at a plane but they will built something based on brahmos which can travel long distance in air to air.
I can't simply stand / argue with shear stupidy / idiocy

Rather than spending billions on SAM, we can easily have similar missile with similar capacity and capability to take down Indian AWACS during a conflict. This will settle the score nicely. Rest assured, there won't be one way threat only. Both countries air force assets will be on mercy of each other. So in short, it is easy of Pakistan to purchase or quickly produce(through ToT from friendly country) air to air cruise missile of similar capacity. If Pakistani AWACS are being denied to fly openly so will be Indian AWACS. Here OP is implying that only PAF AWACS will be under threat which certainly won't be the case.

Source please of this f@king brain f@rt to be honest.....Brahmos is a cruise missile with tones of weight can't be used as air to air launch weapon....for God sake have some logic before post such nonsense illogical hilarious threads....I am truly disappointed by your this thread not expecting from you....

RIP to basic knowledge of millitary stuff...

If it is going to be such a program it will be based on Brahmos NG, not the current one which few MKIs can carry.

Brahmos NG will be used across platforms, even Tejas can carry them.

Why would you try to modify a heavy cruise missile as an AAM?

:cuckoo:

Better to just develop a much longer ranged BVR missile, but the problem is that this will have to be really big and will be tracked and shot down by the escorts that always accompany force multipliers like AWACS.

In short trying to shoot down a well protected AWACs is virtually impossible and too much resources needs to be invested for very little gain.

This is really ridiculous. I mean no credible link to support the claim. Brahmos is a 3t missile, they adapted an air to ground version that still weighs 2.5t! It will be very difficult to convert this A2G stand off weapon to long range A2A BVR. First off they will have to bring it within 1t. Secondly, I still feel a solid rocket motor with ducted ramjet is more suitable for this job-- and it is precisely for this reason that DRDL is actually working on an Indian version of meteor with ducted ramjet.

India is developing a new air to air version of its brahmos missile to target Pakistani Airborne early warning systems.

After the events of last year February 26/27 India who was dilutional about its military superiority got an eye opener from Pakistani Air force who first successfully stopped India in its offensive on Pakistani soil but also retaliated in return to make India feel more miserable.

They key factor in this 2 day tea party in which India faced, was the threat of highly integrated Pakistani AWAC network which timely recognized the threat and also coordinated in Pakistan's response over Indian soil.

India Air chief has admitted on past many occasions about their lack of good fighter jets as their reason of defeat to Pakistan but to put in prospective Pakistan was not the aggressor here and Indian misadventures was of political motive not military motive.

Any how India has realized its low capability against Pakistan in air warfare and has decided to gain an advantage to throw the balance of power in subcontinent in indias favor. This can result in a weapons race in this already tense region. India was already acquiring Rafael jets from France to fulfill its ambitions of threatening its small neighbours and make it policies dominate the region but some reports are suggesting now that India is working on an air to air version of brahmos along Russia to target Pakistani AWACs which poses a threat to any Indian aggression towards its small neighbor. Pakistan with its lower military budget has successfully kept the balance of power in subcontinent but Indian ambitions to become a threat are growing.

The new missile which India is working on is a air to air version of Brahmos with a range of 350 to 450 km expected. It is thought to be a kinetic kill vehicle with speeds exceeding previous version. The missile is thought to be deployed SU-30 MKI of Indian air force. The missile is also considered less maneuverable and can only target slow moving AWACs. India is expected to sign an agreement on this with Russia some where between April and May.

Is Brahmos an A2A missile? India has its air-launched version to attack land targets but its not A2A missile.
