I try not to fall in the category. If, for some reason, anyone felt that I did fall in that category, my apologies.

Yaar you are entitled to your opinions and they are as valid and weighty as those of the ones who are supportive of the khakis. No worries getting your point across. I think we all fall in the trap of generalizing.

Khakis are not just the Generals who have screwed up. Many more have served with honour and most who serve in the khaki do not even become general officers. Most here who have served (known and those who prefer to remain anon.) are in this category.

Pakistan's failures are everyone's failures just as much as Pakistan's successes have to be shared amongst the civilians and the khakis.

I, for one, do not ever want to see another military ruler in Pakistan for as long as I live. I have liked my Army when it has stayed true to its professionalism. I have disliked when the Army has been involved in governance, in providing oversight over civilian institutions and I have disliked the Army getting into the business of becoming security guards. These were never meant to be issues for the Army to get mired in and I hope and pray that the Army will never have to go down this path again.

I share the same hope sir...

Army should stick to her job...

Pakistan will become a glorious country, InshAllah!!!

We all share the failures and successes but we complain when people in power abuse their post....

Wooooow!!!!

Sorry guys got stuck in Google Earth -- looking for Kalamat Naval Base site and looking at Ormara, Pasni, & Gawader Airports and facilities- BTW Pasni Airport has more extensive facilities than Ormara!

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. I got directed to this thread by MK (Thank you sir!) He is the one who encouraged me to post once I started posting -- thanks once again.

I am no Khaki hater but definitely a Pakistani lover:-)

I have been around this forum since 2007 but never posted until 2009 (That is when things really started crashing around us.) I started feeling guilty that most of the people around this forum are privileged for one reason or another but a lot of us do not understand what is really happening. So I decided to jump and try to broaden the horizon, if I can.

I have posted a little bit about me on Think Tank Introduction Thread.

But I am posting a brief about me for those who do not know about me:

MBA in Marketing, Working as a Chief Operating Officer for a Telecom Operator and heading their Wireless Local Loop and Enterprise Solutions Groups.

I am based in Karachi.

Married, three daughters, from a mix of Punjabi/Urdu speaking family mixture and proud of both my genre.

As a hobby I do plastic scale modelling in 1:72 scale and have just started miniature scale war-gaming through "Flames of War" Wargaming rules specializing in WWII Brits and German land battles. I restarted this hobby in 2007 and have spent tons of money on it getting stuff from UK.

Thanks once again guys and gals if any;-) It is a warm feeling that one gets when one has so many friends in such a short time.

I do hope that I will not disappoint you all and understand the concept of "Agree to disagree" and honor your right to disagree.

Once again, I am overwhelmed. I do hope that those of you who are in Karachi -- we meet and get to know each other better. Those of you who are not -- I still would strive to know you better. After all we have one thing common amongst us already -- PakDef Forums!

If you are in Karachi or visiting -- do drop me a note and we will get together!
