What's new

New SinoPak MBT in Planning.

Any tank that will be developed should keep in mind to be ahead of any future indian tanks

GHQ is competent enough to study everything India will field in coming years and can come up with countermeasures.

T99G series onwards is far superior to what India has in her arsenal atm.

.
Whereas they should be studying what others (coalition types) are developing and fielding -- It's not India but them who are the real threat

India can bring its all tank fleet to our borders within hours , no other country can do that so it might be a bit irrelevant. But it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be studying M1A2 , Leopard series etc - No knowledge goes wasted in the right hands.

Pakistan must study , regional and potential international threats and the future MBT should be designed to meet those requirements.

Turkish are trying to make their own tank and will be influenced by the Korean Panther, why not try to get into the program?

That is a 68 tonnes 1800 HP tank , we would love to have it if it passes desert , mud , snow trails , works well in temps above 50 and if we have home production for tanks and spare parts that it don't create a logistical nightmare for us.

Its still 2 years away from first prototype , lets see what it comes up to !

Its actually 55 tonnes with 1,500 HP. Its a pretty standard 3rd gen tank.

You aren't entirely wrong nor am i.

The first two batches will be powered by the 1,500 hp (1,100 kW) MTU engines whereas the last two batches will be powered by an indigenous 1,800 hp engine.

On 16 June 2008, SSM and industry members discussed a possible participation for the development of 1,800 hp (1,300 kW) indigenous power pack for use in the armoured personnel carriers and main battle tanks produced in Turkey.

Looks cool.

check the unit price please, can any nation afford to operation thousands of such tanks? probably not any.
it is never about the absolute spec itself, when necessary we can build a super expensive but super capable tank, then only give the army 10 of them.

the korean one is just a toy used to fuel nationalism in their country. when it is several times more expensive than other major tanks, you have to ask what are they really want to achieve.

R&D is an advantage of such expensive ventures , 75% of US technology including Cell phones etc are just the added benefits of US Military research and development.

China , Pakistan , India also promote nationalism , i don't see any thing wrong if south koreans do so.

peaceful.. you dont know what you're talking about..
the k2 tank is a deadly and 100% on the list of one of the best tank list along with leopard 2a7,m1a2,merkava 4 and maybe t90.
the turkish tank altay.. is also a heavy tank... and we made an agreement about t-129,their advanced light trainer aircraft(t-30 or something) and technology of k2 armour. thats it.
not really much..
the design of the tank is based on the most succesful modern tank which is leopard 2.
Altay tank is also in the list.. in my opinion.

Only you would place a tank that is not even close to being in service as one of the best tanks

.
because i know what is going to put in that tank..
after its in service its gonna be battle proven when it comes to battle..
what is the difference between non service and in service?
nothing the specs are mostly clear
