New postings in Pakistan Army

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Tuesday announced appointments of recently promoted lieutenant generals at various branches of the military.

Earlier this month, four major generals were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Those promoted include Vice Chief of General Staff at the GHQ Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Director General Analysis at the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Major General Nauman Mahmood, Commandant School of Infantry and Tactics, Quetta, Major General Azhar Abbas and Director General Counter Intelligence at the ISI Major General Faiz Hameed.

According to the details,

Lt. Gen. Azhar Abbas has been appointed as DG JS,
Lt. Gen. Nauman Mahmood is posted as IG C&IT
Lt Gen. Adnan will assume office of Corps Commander Bahawalpur.
Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed has been appointed as Adjutant General at General Headquarters (GHQ).
Furthermore, Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza will continue as Vice Chief of General Staff at the GHQ.

Son there have been tons of debates on it. If you have access to only few social media clips on whatsapp its not my problem. Just to make you aware he was GOC Panu Akil a few years ago than made a Deputy Director Gen ISI in recent times. Can write Volumes here but will suffice for a few points now.
1) Carved Baluchistan Awami Party out of Pmln.
2)Created Saraiki Suba Mahaz from Pmln.
3)Defected a lot of PPP stalwarts from central Punjab to PTI.
4)Used ISI cadres to intimidate patwaries and biradari elders.
5)Influenced courts to malign certain politicians.
6)Used and coerced media outlets for desired news flow.
7)Returning Officers were intimidated and influenced.
8)PEMRA was silenced.
9)Social Media accounts were created to fight the hybrid war against own.
10)Army postal ballots were used to achieve desired results.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Nothing will be done to investigate it as the consequences are historically well documented. We all love our armoured forces to the bottom of our hearts. But the policy makers should really ponder that this constant medelling policy since our inception has taken us no where. One day IA we will become a normal country.
