Jamaat e Islami is totally relevant here because once upon a time like PTI they were populists and whilst populism is unique in each country such as in Brazil, Israel, France, Hungary, Turkiye, Russia, etc in our country some parties use the following pillars:
1. Anti-West, 2. Pro religion 3. Anti-democracy 4. Anti corruption
Some people here are saying the establishment is using tactics of the 70s and 80 in Pakistan's modern politics, well then what is PTI's anti-west stance? To me it is as familiar as what the religious parties used in the same era. Isn't PTI calling current government an "imported regime" familiar?. Like the Molvees when the West suits you, you will take dollars but when you find yourself losing support to be in government, you will label them as enemies of the state for petty politics.
A party whose members are openly engaging in homosexual relationships, polygamy, child abuse, drug abuse and various mafias operating in its province of governance ,but advocating for "Riaseteh Madina" is frankly hypocrisy and an insult to our religion. PTI like JI knows that religion is a soft spot for majority of the population amongst all ethnicities and provinces and using it to advantage is populistic and let's also not forget what we had to suffer by negotiating or appeasing the Taliban
Rather than playing the democratic role of following rights and freedoms enshrined in our constitution and the procedures of fairness burdened on you as an elected body , PTI's politics is nothing but thuggery. One day we are told by none other than IK himself that Bajwa was the "most neutral and democratic army chief.(You can watch on record of him saying that) However, next day he suddenly became known as "Mir Jaffer and Mir Sadiq." Furthermore, this is also evident when PTI as an organization labels some media channels such as Geo as "fake news" In a true democratic country, freedom of speech is respected and you should be prepared to take criticism. Either this is an immature politician or he likes to use derogatory language on purpose to lure populism.
Corruption is a subject which is part of human society and it can never be 100% eradicated. However, PTI uses this subject matter as a one sided approach and propagating it as if it is prevalent in other parties but is not in its own. Only an idiot would believe that PTI is not a party of corrupts. Fact is it is comprised of tried and tested politicians who have been either alleged or charged with corruption in the court of law and during its 4 year rule, the country of Pakistan had actually performed worst in corruption index compared to its predecessors. But it's amazing how IK uses his words to drive the nature of the issue to populism particularly amongst the youth, who need an outlet to vent out their personal frustratrations. By the way, JI also played similar tactics by luring youth in madrasas to attack various politicians.
Bottom line, I and most people will support any party which does politics for benefit of people but not for the benefit of its own chair.
A country will be prosperous if a political party has plan that includes:
1. Infrastructure development (building railways, roads, energy projects, schools, health care)
2 Separation of private and state entities
3. Kicking illegal immigrants out
4..Reducing population growth rate
5. A multi-faceted foreign policy where we have good relations with all countries on the pretext that we will be business partners first and religious brothers and security partners second.
