New Missile Systems for JF-17 Thunder

It's far from being a failed project, India has learn quite a lot from it, and because of that, it is far ahead of Pakistan in that regard.

Foreign components doesn't mean foreign fighter. A lot of modern fighters use foreign components; Is the Gripen a British fighter, JUST because it has a number of British components? Of course not.

It's easy to buy parts, it's hard to put them together, so give credit where credit is due.
Its not built from SCRATCH.
Sweden designed gripen all by itself not by help of France like Tejas.
I already said its a good fighter but for now all that money went to nothing.
And this Ahead of Pakistan Behind Pakistan is utterly childish argument.
Defence is suppose to be DEFENCE of homeland in most economic and efficient manner. Not some childish sprint race.
Thing is we have a ready and capable replacement for Mirages and older F7s using our limited resources. While India is still in deep waters to replace its obsolete mig21 fleet. Tejas was suppose to do that but it failed to deliver.
Now go buy some expensive off the shelve fighter again and waste more precious national resources.
At least learn to criticize these stupid policies of Delhi. But Indians always revere whatever shit comes out of federation.
Anyways your country your defence. As you feel happy

Good going, this fighter development has progressed much better then Tejas which keeps on developing :(
At the expense of digressing the basic philosophy behind JFT 8s different from Tejas. The PAF approach has been a pragmatic oñe relying on available technology with a basic but effective platcorm and then growing as the Chinese aviation base grows. The Tejas to me seemed a b4idge too far as the IAF tried to do and demand too much of a platform only to find a cost overrun range deficient and impractical platform wbich its AF is not willing to induct andevenbefore induction you are on to mk2 t9 improve ìts deficiencies. The plane will soon become irrelevant as the IAF strategy is forced to change with time and regional developments. Ithink you will eventually get there but now your best ho0e is limited induction in 2020 with very little benefit. Private sector involvement will propel the project forward . My 2 paisas worth devoid of nationalism post.
Now back to the topic at hand.

That's because we develop solutions instead of using off the shelf solutions .

That is a different strategy towards defence. "Developing solutions" is rather not a defence strategy but a development strategy. We knew we needed these birds for defence and thus getting them in shape and ready to use was our first need, while India kept its focus on the development of technology and waited and waited until its technology base was ready and Tejas would ultimately be a natural product of this industrial base development. Its like building a bike vs building a factory that produces bikes. May be you have built what you were looking to build and we have built what we wanted to build.

.
We should learn to respect each others achievements. Graphican is right it is all about different strategies. JF17 is evolving day by day, same is case with Tejas it may prove to be beneficial in near even if not included in IAF. Look at history of US fighters many state of art fighters/experimental designs were made with lot of investment and research yet not included in USAF yet their designs/tech used in future developments.

It is an Indian design, don't be so nationalistic. India has been working on the Tejas for a very long time, and have plans to eventually remove all foreign components from the fighter, so it very much is an Indian fighter.

I already said its a good fighter but for now all that money went to nothing.
I disagree. What they've learned is invaluable, and will most likely go towards building their next gen fighter. They didn't just sit on their asses and just put part together without learning a thing or two about fighter designs.

And this Ahead of Pakistan Behind Pakistan is utterly childish argument.

Then why even have this argument, if not to argue? Should it matter if India's design is foreign or domestic? According to your logic, this argument shouldn't even have started.

It's severely behind schedule, not that it has failed to deliver. This is a common misconception, which is used against other fighters as well, namely the F-35.

Now go buy some expensive off the shelve fighter again and waste more precious national resources.
Why? I'm not the one buying this stuff.

This is very important as the Vedics have a hard time digesting this fact....JF-17 has DSI

Hey dipshit, I'm Pakistani and a TT. It's my duty to look at the situation from both sides, not just one.

My country, my defense? Give me a break, you patronizing jerk off.
lolz Mobile version of PDF does not show flag or nationality at least in my case. Thought you were Indian.
Anyways.

Oh come on mate!
Foreign engine
Partially designed by dassault or is a complete rip off
Most probably has isralei arms on it
Can be launched from a trailer as one indian member admitted
You're a senior guy dude, why noot look up the report where it says 70% of the arjun is foreign. @Windjammer
Also youre saying a country that cannot manufacture tanks can manufacture aircraft, sorry but i am gonna call BS on that. They are ahead of us in the civil sciences department but defence is a different matter altogether. Please don't be influenced by indian propaganda on this forum and elsewhere.
Learn t find the truth...

I don't taint my views with one sided nationalistic rose covered glasses. Tanks and jets are two different things, and most of what you said doesn't change anything, because it's more banter than factual.

The Arjun has nothing to do with the Tejas.

Why do Pakistanis can the JF-17 indigenous, when the engine is Russian, the design is Chinese, and 55% of the aircraft is manufactured in China, using Chinese technology. The same logic applies.

It shouldn't matter if I'm Indian or Pakistan, all you need to do is look at what I'm saying. Don't just disagree with someone because they're not Pakistan.

. . .
Amazing, we used to have only AMRAAM missiles for our F-16 limit, no other options but now we have multi-missiles capable with JF-17 now.

First of all the project is always mentioned as a joint venture between both countries. Secondly this thread is about weaponary on the JF -17, you are supposed to be stopping detraction of topics if I remember.
Also with the amount of TOT and building experience the Indians have gotten from different platforms, the Tejas should have been much easier to build. Considering the engine, radar, electronic systems are all foreign based it is surprising they have not gotten further faster.
The evolution of Pak-China joint venture in military aviation, JF-17 Thunder
PS.You are talking without even reading the article carefully which is unlike you.
