New intelligence outfit proposed by Senate body

Let me fill in the blanks i hope this will clear the air for why we need this new agency.

A sub-committee of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights has prepared a draft bill proposing the establishment of an Inter-Service Intelligence Agency (ISIA) to be overseen by the country’s prime minister.
The agency will be responsible for arresting, detaining, interrogating and prosecuting any body that stand in the way.

You people did know catch it, the reason is Extra Funds more corruption, Just like HEC has 2 Boss on the same post with one illegally appointed by PM recently. Did you people not witness recently so many unnecessary ministries have been established and people from allied parties have been appointed there is a massive corruption going on.

What Should have been

ISI = Responsible for External Threats & countering them.

FIA = Responsible for investigating Internal Threats /Corruption etc.

IB = Responsible for Internal Security.

CID = Responsible for day to day Crimes.

MI = Responsible for investigating Military matters.

What actually is Happening

FIA & IB have be too much politicized & thus are incapable of providing any results , all the major Ranking officers are there due to their influence in the Politics in Pakistan or due to personal goals of Politicians .

CID is useless as its officers have no proper training & are basically the same as the regular police

MI does & will not interfere with Public matters

And Result of Which is , all the Heavy load has fallen on the shoulders of ISI , from Internal Security(which is not their job but IB's Job) to internal threat assessment ( which is FIA's job) , to countering external threats ( which is actually their job) , and result of which ISI is unable to fully concentrate on the external security matters. Thus it has to take extreme measures.

SO instead of a New agency just De Politicize the current one , & 90% security threats will be dealt with . & Remaining 10% will just vanish.

Spot on sir. Recent news reports also confirmed that FIA is now swarmed with officers on deputation from other civilian departments. All of them are relatives & friends of political elite. Under auspicious rule of PPP & Rehman Malick everything is in a sh** hole.

I would rather want to see IB merge into FIA. Give FIA more power like FBI but before that clean it from all corruptions and the person to head FIA should have served Military atleast 3 Star General [retired-serving]. Abolish CID.

So we must have another ISIA.
