Simulators are becoming more and more important.
The Gripen E is a fully modelled design, and the Gripen E simulator is used to test the
large amount of S/W developed.
A lot of testing which previously needed to be done by test flights are now done in the simulator, and the development will thus be speeded up.
Included in the simulator is a full map of Sweden, from satellite data,
and in the HiSec version you have all the command and control stations.
I believe I read somewhere that the simulators can use the Gripen datalink and connect to real
aircraft and of course other simulators for tactical training, Can't find the source right now,
Short Video here of the less sophisticated Gripen C demo simulator.
