Brig Gen Md Akbar Hossain has been made head of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), succeeding Maj Gen Shaikh Mamun Khaled, a government source said.

Gen Khaled will be the Vice Chancellor at the army-run Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), said the source.

Brig Gen Akbar Hossain, of Artillery Corps, was commissioned in the army as a cadet of the 13th Long Course of the Bangladesh Military Academy.

Maj Gen Khaled, of the 5th Long Course of the BMA, is a Signals officer and served the DGFI for over five years.

With new DGFI chief, it gives credence to what following post said.

This was posted couple days ago:
In daily Amadersomoy comment section someone reported that india had preplanned to kill Khaleda Zia on her way to see Indian President in Dhaka. DGFI after learning the plot risked ire from indian subservient Awami League regime and informed KZ office. That prompted opposition leader to cancel schedule meeting with Indian President.

Beside showing support for Awami League, main reason for Indian president to come in Bangladesh in the middle of genocidal drive was to play an anchor for indian plot to kill Bangladesh opposition leader. Plot was, while Khaleda Zia arrives around Karwan Bazar area there will be simultaneous grenade attack and sharp shooting to take Khaleda Zia out.

This has not been verified but events around Indian president visit in such highly tumultuous time explains why indian president took such high risk for prized target of india - that is Khaleda Zia.

its a very strategic place and you have to be willing to do lots of bad things for this job. My uncle was supposed to get this job, instead he was sent for retirement:lol:. He won't be able to stop a coup, he is a brigadier, not in charge of the engineers brigade or the 46th brigade, i bet awami league tried to reshuffle them.

So you want to say Just Because DGFI warned BKZ of a possible security threat , DGFI chief is transferred to less important BUP??

:lol:You do realize that this claim sounds obnoxious that kz was going to get attacked on her way to see pranab babu. I am a staunch BNP supporter, but this sounds like an obnoxious claim. KZ could have asked for a helicopter ride and the government would have provided. It was a political, nothing more. Some dude online posting and claiming to be DGFI does not make him DGFI.

killing kz on her way to see pranab babu would be a pr disaster, the whole country would explode and become anti india. they would be more subtle in killing her.

It doesn't matter. By coming here while the nation burns, it has already had a negative impact on PR.

:lol:he was greeted with a molotov cocktail outside his hotel too

I heard from someone in the BNP at 4 in the afternoon today that IKB wanted him changed, which the gvt was unwilling to do.
He has been a 'teacher's pet' why would he give a tip to KZ?

Is Golam Azam alive? Haven't seen him alive on tv etc for a long time...

That could be among other things. Besides, there was also news bid to change army chief did not work. There must be lots of things at play. That is why I said it does give credence to such connection, does not mean the only reason.
