New commander southern command assumes charge

Sunday, October 04, 2015 - Quetta—Lt General Aamir Riaz has assumed charge as new Commander Southern Command in a ceremony held at HQs S Command, Quetta Cantt here on Saturday evening. Outgoing Commander Southern Command, Lt. General. Muhammad Nasser Khan Janjua handed over change of command to the New Commander Southern Command by giving him stick of change and flag.

Addressing the ceremony, outgoing Commander Southern Command, Lt.Gen. M Nasser Khan Janjua said that slogan of Pakistan Livelong and Balochistan Livelong is a reality and truth. “Jeeway Pakistan and Jeeway Balochistan is a great reality,” he said, adding that Balochistan is ours and would remain ours forever.

He said that he received love from the Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, Govt of Balochistan and people belonging to all segments in Balochistan during his job as Commander S Command. “Today is day of my retirement of service and I am leaving my office with fully honor and love,” he said..—APP

Balochistan is about to get a serious Makeover.

Is Gen Amir Riaz as amiable a personality as Gen Janjua? I think the reason for Gen Janjuas succeess was tht he was able to win hearts of people there by his warm and welcoming attitude towards everyone... Is Gen Amir Riaz also like him..or not? I hope he is as friendly towards ppl as Gen Janjua

Gen. Riaz has a very lot to prove because he is appointed in a province which is filled by foreign funded terrorists, Indian & Afghani agents. Gen. Janjua did an excellent job against those bastards, now it is Gen. Riaz turn to prove he is worthy & his selection at this position will not go in vain.

Gen. Kayani & his team had caused a huge mess in Pakistan & PA was really hurt because of him, but today thanks to Gen. Raheel's continuous hard work, PA's moral is high & Pakistan fully support them in all field of hardship & joy.

I hope & pray that we Pakistanis don't get to see another Gen. Kayani in PA ever.

Dnt let him go.....He is the man of the hour.......Is there any possibility that a retired General can serve the Armed forces.

Depends on the age, and health.

IF below 60, then most probably, not retired, but his status would be "reserve". Otherwise in a consultative position, yes.
