What's new

New CM Punjab - Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar Elected - Whats your views ? Dos/Dont's for Punjab Growth ?

Its a big risk on part of IK, but BIG RISKS are what makes IK - IK!

And looking at IK's track record, I will give odds in his favour. If Usman Buzdar is able to deliver, Punjab will see a new type of growth which will start at the bottom and life of most neglected countrymen will improve a big deal. Its not a bad initiative provided it works, and I am praying it would.

Risks of failure are indeed there, but IK says, your responsibility is to try, success and failure are only blessed by your Lord Almighty.

Well if PTI wants to challenge the politics of electable in long run than it's mandatory that PTI develop and retain support base and vote bank for party not personalities - and to achieve this it have to deliver promises with big names taking back stage.
So that is already happening. PTI delivered in KPK under Pervaiz Khattak (PK) and now it is Mehmood Khan... next will be another so people will get used to the fact that faces change but the vision is permanent.
It is very difficult for the people to see the big picture especially that will only become clear in the future. But I'm sure when they will look back 10-20 years from now, they will say IK was a genius and a true visionary leader...then his mistakes in Urdu, or his smirks during guard of honour will be forgotten...all will be remembered is how he transformed a sick and corrupt crowed into an honest and dynamic nation. In-sha-Allah.

This my view the cities in Punjab will see normal development and Lahore will see less development in coming 2 years. The main focus will be on up lifting the rural Punjab those areas will be made more productive and production sector in Punjab will see huge boost. Means business environment will get better. Regarding south Punjab it will become one of the most important places in Asia as it will be the main connection connecting Gawadar to Lahore.

Buzdar as Punjab chief minister has been received with both high hopes and doubts

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The nomination of first-time MPA and former tehsil nazim of the mountainous tribal area tehsil of Dera Ghazi Khan district Usman Buzdar as Punjab chief minister has been received with both high hopes and doubts by local political pundits and politicians. Mr Buzdar is also under the media scrutiny for a murder case registered against him and his family members in 1998.

Former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa told Dawn the nomination of Mr Buzdar as the chief minister was a good measure but an inexperience person at the top slot would automatically make Chaudhry Sarwar (governor designated) the most powerful man in the province. He said that in the future, Mr Buzdar might be replaced with some other party stalwart.

Former Punjab Assembly deputy speaker Sher Ali Gorchani welcomed the nomination of Mr Buzdar calling it a good omen for the deprived people of trans- Indus districts of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan. He said Mr Buzdar should be a full-term chief minister, and not a stopgap one.

CM-in-waiting was nominated in murder case in 1998

Former PPP MPA Khawaja Nizamul Mehmood, who defeated Mr Buzdar in the elections of 2013 and remained runner-up in the 2018 elections as an independent candidate, also congratulated his rival over his nomination for the chief executive of the province, and said he hoped he would deliver results to the deprived masses.

Political analyst Ibrahim Baig said that Jahangir Tareen and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would be remotely controlling the Punjab affairs. He said that in case his appeal against disqualification was accepted, Mr Tareen might replace him within weeks. In case Mr Buzdar remained the chief minister for five years, this would be a good step for the deprived area.

With spotlight on Mr Buzdar for the prized post, the murder case against him, his father and brother by Border Military Police Station of Sorra registered in 1998 was also making the rounds. The case was settled through a jirga in 2000. During the local bodies elections in 1998, an armed clash erupted between sub clans of Buzdar tribe - Chakaranis and Ladwanis. The Ladwanis were allegedly being backed by Mr Buzdar. The clash left six Chakarani tribesmen dead on the polling station of Goasani Sarbil. Later, a case was registered against 33 Ladwanis, besides Usman Buzdar (at that time he was contesting elections for the district assembly against Hiyat khan Chakarani ), his father Fateh Muhammad Buzdar and Jammadar of Border Military Police Umer Buzdar.

In an ideal situation, the provincial government should not be building roads or mega projects. It should be focusing on educaiton, health, police etc but the power for educaiton, health and police should be in the local bodies.

In Canada the provincial govnerment sets the policy for educaiton and then the local districs do all the hard work. So the Cm is not the running schools.

Yes PMLN only built roads while people suffered. We need human development not road development.

This is a great aspect that today everyone is speaking of risky selection or wrong selection of Usman Bozdar - but no one is able to pick any ill-intentions behind this move. My Leader can be wrong at observation or decision, but not even critics are able to pick any ill-intention behind this decision.

You could not say the same about PPP or PMLN governments, where thugs, robbers and known corrupt were installed on the National chairs just because they were their loyalists, or an instrument which will help them fill their bank accounts even more.

Simple question for all PTI supporters.
Does Buzdar qualify under article 62/63?
Media is saying he is a murderer while he is saying he's not. One of them is lying. If Buzdar is indeed a muderer then it's a shame that we defend him just because IK nominated him.
There should be no confusion. Qaum ko pata hona chahiye kay banda qaatil hai ya innocent. Ye baad ki baat hai kay vo deliver karay ga ya nahi ya kar sakta hai ya nahi.

BTW slightly on tangent.. I think you will be happy to know that Shirin Mazari is not our MoD.

Patwaris are complaining as usual. Not to forget it's Imran Khans first time oath taking as a minister, yet alone Prime Minister. While Ganja Sharif has been doing it since 1985

Yes he qualifies because he has no 302 FIR in his name media is bullshit.

Lala Buzdar is here to stay.
He being CM means IK is CM Punjab.

How to get this in patwari heads?

That's crap. He took the oath of PM.. not minister.
That's what I said. Imran Khan had never taken oath as a minister, yet alone Prime Minister. Therefore Patwaris have nothing to complain. We have no idea how Ganja was doing when he took oath as CM Punjab in 1985
