China's CGI has improved a lot. Currently watching Fu Yao. Good storyline and the CGI is decent for a tv series. I think it's much better than Ice Fantasy

Indeed, CGI for fantasy drama are pretty good. However, Chinese period drama doesn't require CGI. The strength are in the unique storyline and characters that's tied to historical events, legends, or Wuxia novel, Chinese philosophy, painstakingly designed set and costume, ancient architecture...etc. Hollywood with its CGI will never be able to produce something like Water Margin, 射雕, 三生三世....

I stopped watching it when you realized it's very much like a Japanese drama piece. The name, some costumes resemble Japanese. Plus the story is so boring....and slow...the characters suck.

Legend of Fu Yao has better CGI and mich more interesting storyline.

My mother just finished watching Legend of FuYao I downloaded for her from youtube. She finish 66 episodes in a week and love the drama very much. She likes to watch on big TV and not waiting for 2 episodes per day. I don't watch Chinese drama but only download for her once the drama is finish. But she finish them very fast! I'm running out of good ones for her.

My mother just finished watching Legend of FuYao I downloaded for her from youtube. She finish 66 episodes in a week and love the drama very much. She likes to watch on big TV and not waiting for 2 episodes per day. I don't watch Chinese drama but only download for her once the drama is finish. But she finish them very fast! I'm running out of good ones for her.

I watched legend of Fuyao but stop at 12 episode... so boring and the story so predictable.
I prefer Nirvana in fire , advisor of allliance

Hollywood scripts are formulic and basic. Look at those best selling movies such as star wars. It's battle scenes are so ww1 lol. Let's send a squadron of x-wing fighters against a fleet of imperial star destroyers. Let's see how that turn out. To make it worse the star destroyers send out a squadron of Tie Fighters . Simple plot for simple minded folks.

No....I'd say the recently completed "The Americans" on FX or "Better Call Saul" on AMC are better shows than Game of Thrones. An when has China ever created a show as great and influential as The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, or Mad Men? I could keep going.....Chinese shows are nonexistent on the world stage.

More sophisticated? What a pile of horse sh#t. The American film industry has impacted the world immeasurably for the past 100 years, while Chinese film has barely made a dent. Who are you trying to fool?

US movies have the advantage of English language while Chinese ones don't, but that'll change with time, Chinese dramas now is beoming popular first in East Asia where peoples share similar cultural heritage, expanding out of this region is the next step.
