New Chinese envoy: Bangladesh pearl of Bay of Bengal, important in S Asia

Chinese private companies invest and build factories in Pakistan.

But I rarely see news of Chinese companies (such as automobile manufacturers) building factories in Bangladesh. Who knows why?

Whatever the reason is - Private sector in Bangladesh and China are not aligned as well as they are aligned in Pakistan and China.

The argument was, can CCP force private sector Chinese companies to set up or force to invest or relocate operations to Bangladesh?

My answer was no, it cannot. CCP certainly has lots of influence, but I (and @bluesky bhai) argued that they can only lead a horse to water (with incentives).

Whether a Chinese conglomerate wants to invest in a country like Bangladesh is a purely profit-based decision, it is not driven by govt. influence.

That pearl is being worn like a necklace by the Hasina regime. A personal property plundered for its beauty.

The irreplaceable role of a balancing power cannot be left at the mercy of militias or dictators.

Much is expected of the Bengali nation to play their rightful role as one of the sane voices among the nations of the world.

We know! We know!

We know what you want!

You want those pearls to be used to spread Wahhabism. And destabilise India!

That’s exactly why we want Hasina as dictator for life.

Because she uses those pearls to build metro rail and padma bridge.

We have no desire to be like a certain other country 🤣🤣🤣😂😂

Pearls aren't plundered buddy, they are picked from their shells.

That's exactly what Hasina has managed to do after 4 decades, finally giving BD a chance to shine.

The very fact that it's the Chinese making these statements, means BD is playing it's balancing role perfectly.

Btw, didn’t people claim we had no pearls to bargain with?

Hopeless basket case!

Nothing to bargain with…

🤣🤣🤣

@Bilal9 wrote a “long piece” claiming how US would screw BAL because they had nothing to bargain with..,

😂😂🤣🤣

Compare with "CCP forces Chinese private companies to invest in a certain country". I would like to talk more about "CCP prohibits Chinese private companies from investing in a certain country".

As I know. even when China-India border clashes in 2020, Chinese private companies still invest and build factories in India.

Investing in a hostile country in wartime??? Does the CCP have the right to warn/punish these private companies? I think the CCP has this right…… Most governments/parties will not tolerate private companies investing in hostile countries. But the problem is that CCP never even warned/banned private companies to invest in India.

We can foresee. If the Indian government had not brutally robbed Xiaomi and vivo. Chinese private companies will still send money to India.

Strict controls on such incoming investments forced Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motor to shelve plans to invest $1 billion in India earlier this year, after it failed to obtain regulatory approvals.
BYD has two manufacturing plants in India, spread over 140,000 square metres with more than 3,000 employees, Zhang said. It would not need to bring in new investments to assemble and sell the Atto 3, a source familiar with the company's plans said.

The Indian government has successfully prevented GWM from investing in India. I also hope India will ban BYD's investment as soon as possible. This may be good for both sides.

About investing in Bangladesh. I believe as long as you don't rob Chinese private companies. They will definitely invest in Bangladesh in the future.

Once Bangladesh and India sign FTA - Chinese companies will no longer need to invest in India to access their markets.

And BD government do not have the geopolitical heft to rob Chinese companies - even if they wanted to.

Chinese investment is safe under Hasina’s leadership.

I give up.....

Are you denying what you wrote 🤣🤣🤣

I am just quoting you, dude!

The balance of power has long shifted from Calcutta to Dhaka. It is now Dhaka's turn to uplift the Bengali nation struggling in West Bengal.

The spread of Waste Bengal into Bangladesh is more of regions concern. India's intention and politics are clearly designed to flood Bangladesh with millions of what India considers illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

The power vacuum allowed to flourish through brutal political victimization being left by Hasina is a measure enough of how Hasina has managed the country through her regime.
