New Base Year Ups FY'13 GDP by US$18 billion

. .
No, @apo_mEaTgRiNdEr was reminding the Indians about some of your posters', probably @LaBong, who were always bragging about Maharastra economy bigger than BD.

All these braggings are now under the quick sand when your per capita $1527 GDP is now sunk to less than $1145. Please refer to post# 11 to read the statement of our Finance Minister. INR has lost 25% of its value, and so is your GDP.

It will sink below the BD per capita once your Rupee becomes 70 to a dollar, which every economist is forecasting. Note that India will have to pay back $150 billion or more by next May to its borrowers, and all the foreigners are leaving India forever with their dollars. So, it is possible that INR will hit 70 to dollar.

Why are you quoting me man? It's you guys who were bragging that BD gdp/capita will exceed India's after calculating with new base year. In reality you barely hit 1000 dollars/capita mark. Maharastra is well ahead than you, you should be comparing yourself with states which are in lower strata of India - Jharkhand, Bihar etc.

Is our GDP larger than superpower state Maharashtra's GDP (nominal) yet? We beat all other superpower states in terms of GDP (not per capita though).

Yeah you will even manage to beat USA after you tweak your birth rate a bit.

At the present $1044 per capita GDP, BD is comparable to average India, where per capita GDP stands only at $1145 if you consider the prevailing INR/dollar exchange rate. In comparison Pakistan per capita is $1380, far above India. Read the statement made by our Finance Minister.

It is always you who was bashing BD with your dollar based hollow GDP data when 80 Crore of Indian population need govt bailout with Rs.1, Rs.2 and Rs.3 per kg survival rice. Now, your pants are down with the crumbling of Indian economy.

Go back to school and learn basics of economics, there's a difference between a economist and a Razmistri(foreman)!

I tried to explain to Indian economist in this forum, how Indian assets were overvalued in USD term due to hot money flowing in for the last 3 years but nobody was willing to accept the truth.

Its all simple math and none of the Indian economic numbers ever added up. That's because the numbers were not real. We have to wait and see, how things unfold in the next couple of years in India. They might need to go back to basics and do the hard work which they though they could skip.

Can't find it...provide some links from World Bank.

bangladesh and pak gdp was almost similar but in the 80's our growth rate was high.

if we exclude the billionaire factor from indian GDP which today is more than 200billion dollars.

the common indian per capita than stand around 855 dollars.

Give me concrete links from world bank where it says our gdp was higher than yours(starting from 70s...before that we were the same country)....not a google graph.

BD gdp 21billion dollars

1990

PAK GDP 40billion dollars
BD GDP 30billion dollars

If we exclude the jagirdar factor out of Pakistan gdp, common Pakistani per capita stands at 400 dollars! I sound just as authentic as you.

Try to understand what GDP is. It's Gross Domestic Product, not Gross National Income.

.
east pakistan gdp was higher than west pakistan in 50's.

check out the history of bangladesh and pakistan in world bank

Because then the population of East Pakistan was much bigger than West Pakistan, in 71 it was 70 million in East whereas 52 million in West. However, per capita GDP probably was not higher.

Unbelievable..the data actually show BD economy shrank from 1975 (perhaps the worst time for BD economy) to 1980 by $1b USD. I suspect the Awamis had doctored with the figures until 1975 to look good. Also look the economy grew by almost 60% from 1974 to 1975!

The data is absurd because during Pakistan time eastern GDP was about $9 billion and western about $14 billion. GDP of Bangladesh shrank by more than 30% after the 1971 war.
