Nearly 12 years ago a Muslim woman from Egypt was murdered in a German courtroom. In a freaking courtroom in a country that sees itself as the beacon of rule of law!

What happened? She was on a playground with her child and was insulted by a jobless hobo with racist and anti-Muslim slurs. He got a fine for this but appealed the court decision so they trialed him.

During the court hearings he stood up and stabbed Marwa El-Sherbini 18 times and killed her. Her husband who tried to help her got 3 stabs and was wounded by a shot fired by a police officer who thought that her own husband wants to harm her. Her 3 year old son saw his own mother die in a courtroom of a first world country. In order to complete the tragedy: She was also 3 months pregnant...

I remember the time and the internet comments of 2009. Victim blaming - I read comment sections on that recent incident in Canada as well, people are just disgusting - and hatespeech against a young mother who did a very German thing to handle her conflicts: pressing charges. I remember how one comment said that it was her fault to press charges for "such a minor crime" and stuff like that.

Just simply heartbreaking - speaks volumes that a person like me that reads the news regularly didn’t know about the incident - yet if a Jew or white person gets attacked the media is saturated with news making innuendos that ALL Muslims must be apologists.

I am speechless, this is beyond sick.

Yes, I was also speechless back then. No entry controls (I always thought that is a standard procedure in the justice system but obviously not...) and the police officer instead of shooting down this ....... he wounds the husband. You could believe that this episode was kind of a tragic comedy sketch but unfortunately it was the bitter truth for Marwa el-Sherbinis husband her son.... there was no further investigation against the police officer cause you know it was the natural thing to do shoot down the husband cause Muslim husbands are evil and stuff?

Marwa El-Sherbini had a bachelors in pharmacy and worked in the local hospital, her husband is an expert in human genetics who moved back to Egypt after this incident. A bright couple mashallah.

Unfortunately I couldn't find out what the husband and their son are doing today (husband worked as a lecturer in Egypt later). I hope both daddy and son could overcome this incident and live a happy and succesful life. Remember them in your prayers brothers and sisters!

Yeah, this is another tragedy of the Muslims. They are busy all day long being sorry for what they are but are not vocal enough when it comes to their own interests, identity and community.

I remember that incident well. I even doubt any harsh punishment was given. This shows the western society is nothing more than a media hyped circus. I mean, in what kind of sick society do people kill others for no apparent reason but a hate against a group. How can one take out hatred of a group on individuals that have done nothing wrong to them? It shows an extremely extremist and hateful mentality.
In our poor country, there are crimes, they call us 3rd world country but in reality such hateful crimes are very rare here. There is also a lesson for the people who think the only path to success is to immigrate to west. Many such families have met a tragic end, just coz of hatred. I would say its better to work hard and improve ur own country instead of working for a foreign society that hates u and wants to kill u. These hate filled scum dont even care about kids.
I also think this hatred will keep increasing, even as we develop, they will get more jealous and then take it out on common families with kids.

How different our circumstance would be IF we are UNITED as one.
