Nehru and the National Philosophy of India: Secularism

It will be more palatable yes. And it's not because they have BJP, they have their own agenda but because unlike Bengalis they aren't importing illegal immigrants from across the border in bulk.
Perhaps the best plausible argument against secularism (not the topic of this thread) is to abuse the person who defends it. Thank you, I got my answer.

I didn't quoted you nor it was intended towards you, don't be so defensive.
Well you quoted nobody :) ...but i see only me and @scorpionx defending the real secularism here and it so happens that i'm a keralite and hes a bengali ...dont you think the confusion your post would've created was evident even before it was posted?

Now talking about some uncomfortable truth is attack and abuse to the defenders of secularism? Victim-hood played well.

A sikh headed this country for 10years is a proof of what I think is secularism.

A Secular Country would recognise every religion individually and lot lable stamp of Hindu on a Particular Community. However, it only recognize rights of the special Community. For me, this is a proof of what is Pesudo Secularism, not Secularism.

Either have small rule for everyone or provide special previllages to every community which is given to the Special Community. This is it. :p:

If I remember Sikhs have a separate status as a minority only Jains didn't have that until recently, only the marriage law was common with Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. Never saw the religion section on the passport.

Article 25 of Indian Constitution is discriminatiory.

I'm not in favour of special status for anyone. Everyone should be seen with same eye. Either have same laws for everyone, else special previlages shouldn't been given to the specific community, but to everyone. :D

Uniform civil code is not coming to India, although I support it too.

I'm aware, it's never going to come. Iske empliment hone say, desh ka Secularism Khattre may aa jayega.

I'm not here to Pick fight with anyone, neither wish to. I know what secularism is. I've spent enough time in India and my POV is based on my small Experience. :D

The day we have same laws for all the citizens of India, I'll might agree that India is taking 1st step in becoming the Secular Country, not for the time being. :cray:

Look beyond politics....And then you will know what I mean.

Uncomfortable??
why would I be uncomfortable if somebody's speaking the truth?? (Though I fail to understand how and when kerala fell to dogs???)
And I do object to ppl judging my posts on the basis of the state that I belong to.

Locking horns with Indians would be the last thing that I would do on this forum, unless it is manvan.Lol
Ciao!

Peace!!

I'm not mixing Politics and thinking beyond it. My POV is based on my 7 years bitter experience in India. :D

PS: I know what you mean, but what you mean is alien in India. :lazy:

Hold your horses, champ!! Do you realize that you appeared on this thread to speak the truth without even knowing what is being talked about here? This thread was about Nehru and his limitations of implementing his own beliefs which was challenged by at least two more other beliefs when it came to the relation between the state and its subjects about religious affairs. It was not to promote your, mine or Ricky martin's version of secularism!! What has your 'uncomfortable truth' has to do with the topic first of all when nothing was being discussed about the present government? Did you assume that people are championing Kejriwal or Mulayam Singh here? Please, if you are so fond of speaking your truth do it after reading the contents first. Narendra Modi in his election campaign spoke of the matter quite well. He will be applauded again and again if he gives equal treatment to all or separating everything from state affairs. Have patience first (quite unusual among the BJP fan boys here though) and no need to take unnecessary jibe at something you got no idea about.
