NATO had something all the participants feared, The Godless Soviets Juggernaut.
The GCC can't even figure out how to create efficient unit cohesion. It's too much of a long shot.
I like the idea. Pakistan contributes troops to the fledgling Unified Forces of the GCC, and in return gets paid for their services, along with relationships with counterparts. But you have to realize, the greater powers to be aren't going to like this one bit.
I think Pakistan army serve as " combat consultant ". Formulate the strategy and provide deployment planning. And there soldiers and generals figure out how to fight with enemy.NATO had something all the participants feared, The Godless Soviets Juggernaut.

I respect your views. Please look at it from a different angle. Libya became bad because there was no stabilizing force in post-Qaddaafi era.
Pakistan is a fcuked up country and it needs to sort itself out...culturally, politically, economically etc.
Can not put enough emphasis on how fcuked this country is...seriously. Anyone one with an iota of common sense and love for Pakistan will go for a non-aligned approach.
Pakistan should stay away form the meddlings of Arab states. As a Japanese, I can say that its best to look to one's own affairs, and the only time Pakistan should intervene militarily is to cater to the needs of her citizens in the MIddle East in the event wider conflict cannot be abated. Let that region deal with their own menace and problems.
The Parliament of Pakistan and the Pakistan Military should be reserved for the protection of the Nation's own borders. The 180 million Pakistanis need the protection of its own military , and the military should not be sent abroad for the interests of foreign states who have never contributed for the defense of Pakistan in past wars.
Let us all learn from the quagmire of Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Egypt. Stay out of the catastrophe in the Middle East...
And the purpose of this task force would be to further the interests of the GCC? ....
I agree in fact we need to work on economy fast and as economy improves or if some oil related miracle happens we need to increase our Armed Forces and deploy a massive number in KSAIt is pathetic to haggle between Pakistani and Saudi brothers over man power and money.. This pathetic discussion resulted from the fact that we all have not setup proper institutions in advance to deal with calamities and disasters like in Yemen.
The need of the hour is to quickly setup at least a defense institution as PGCC joint task force.
main task for this is to control the anarchy resulting from the ugly breakdown off the governments.
This force should establish military bases in the region with consultation of the military commanders. Cost and man power will be all shared and help drastically cut down the individual spending by pooling resources from all parties.
JTF-PGCC is the way to go.
p.s. If iran comes out of international sanctions it should be invited to join PGCC. As GCC should expand to both sides of Gulf.
