Nearly 100 Indians stick in violence-hit Kyrgyzstan June 14, 2010
Nearly 100 Indians, including students, are stuck in violence-hit Kyrgyzstan's second-largest city of Osh, India's Ministry of External Affairs sources said Monday.
"Some 100 Indian nationals are stranded in Kyrgyzstan where over 100 people have been killed in ethnic violence for last three days. The Indian Mission in that country is trying its best to ensure their safety. We will do all possible to ensure their well- being. The mission is also monitoring the situation," the sources said.
Ethnic violence has gripped Kyrgyzstan, particularly the rioting in Osh is the heaviest since deposed President Kurmanbek Bakiyev was toppled in a bloody uprising in April.
