Raheel Sharif should not and will not accept it, if offered. He has already made his decision, and if he goes back on it, he'll lose respect in many people's eyes.
Truthfully, I believe RS should get into politics, once he leaves the military. He has a lot of support, and an extension would ruin his popularity, just as it has previous COAS's. Best to get into politics (especially on a high note), if he wants to continue bringing change in Pakistan. He has the admiration and respect of the population, he would do well, if not outright win a general election.
He'll likely launch his own party, and steal a lot of veteran politicians from other parties. He'd probably also get heavy support from military circles. If RS does enter politics, how will he go about it? Will he join an existing party, or float one of his own? Yes, as a soldier RS gets a lot of respect, but what will happen when he takes the uniform off?

If he joins another party, it will either be PTI (due to allegations that PTI was backed by the military), or PML-N (due to already knowing how to deal with Noon-league).
