Nawaz knew little about ‘foolish’ Kargil op: ex-ISI chief

.
Why Durrani is calling Kargil a "foolish operation" and a "fiasco?"

Didn't Pakistan win the Kargil war hands down? At least that's what majority pakistanis believe?

Either Operation is foolish or not. Just one Question have you ever seen that any ISI official said anything wrong against country in the history but why now is the mystery

Faisco because India is still raping Kashmir.

Foolish operation is durranis strategic educated guess

He retire long back and I believe what he wrote in this book either his assumptions or heard the stories from other hence I call it work of fiction with complete lies and little truth about recent events.

how do you know he didn't work in S-Wing? Hameed Gul, the Retired Army ISI officer who tipped Americans were probably part of S-WING or else how come A retired ISI mid level official came about the presence of OBL ? S-WING probably was responsible for OBL hideout in abbotababd as well. @tps77 @MUSTAKSHAF

He doesn't need to be part of S wing tbh S wing has/had different tasking . Maybe he was part of CT wing? Full COL and birgs are part of top level body of ISI tho.
ISI can hve multiple detachments in same city under different wings .

Sir there is no S wing exist.
Sir jeee hamza camp main 3 wings ka HQ hain I wont disclose there names , but crosscheck there name . S wing name is something else but function is same.

I can just say that people publish books for earning money - if thats what you're trying to imply.

But if we were to question every published book (and call it a conspiracy) then we won't believe ANYONE who publishes books in the first place. May be we should believe those who have first hand experience in dealing with issues they're writing about? Durrani was an ISI chief for god's sake, so I wanna say that majority of what he said is true. You're free to make your own decision about it ofcourse. Good day sir:-)

Except that no objectives were met for which Kargil was initiated by Pak Army. So I don't blame Durrani for calling it what it is - A Foolish Operation. I'm sure we can agree on that one:-)

Once again this is open to debate and can be discussed freely.
Pakistan held the advantage strategically before it decided to return to the original post.

But holding "an advantage strategically and then returning to the original post" was never the objective of Pak Army for Kargil, now was it Sidd?

The debate is the end result, and the end result is that "no objectives were met" by Pakistan. Let's call spade a spade Sidd, let's do it once, shall we?

The military objective was achieved with precision and efficiency.
The civilian government failed miserably in building the narrative it was needed.
There are more than one objectives when an action takes place. There is always a Plan B and a Plan C if plan A backfires or must be curtailed.

I have a question if you allow me.

Since when civilian government was taken seriously by the Army? In fact, the civilian government wasn't even informed about the "complete nature" of the operation! Then why blame the civilian government Sidd? Civilian government tried doing the damage control after the Plan A B & C backfired altogether. I wont be wrong if I say that civilian government saved the Army from further humiliation. You - IMO - should be thanking Nawaz for it.

Many special ops are not revealed due to sensitive nature of things.
Had Nawaz simply owned the operation and put his people power behind it. Kargil would have been a very different story.

Two Words
Scapgoat.
Distraction.
Every thing being told is a plain lie.

Okay. When you say "Kargil would have been a different story," i take that as your agreement with me that it was a foolish operation after all.

But I find it shocking when you say "some operations are not revealed to the civilian government."

I don't think that's true (correct me if I'm wrong). In a democracy, the civilian government decides what army should be doing and not the other way around. At least that's how I understand it.
