Nawaz accepts invitation to visit Iran

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan places strong emphasis on friendly relations with all neighbouring countries including Afghanistan‚ India and Iran on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Talking to Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Javed Zarif here on Thursday‚ he said that his country would continue to support all efforts that further the cause of peace and stability in the region. He congratulated Iran on the recently concluded nuclear deal with six world powers and expressed the hope that the process of constructive engagement would continue.
Emphasising the need for strengthening of relations among D-8 countries‚ the Prime Minister said the D-8 holds great potential to build on synergies between the eight leading Islamic countries. He said Iranian participation in the 16th Council of Ministers Meeting of the D-8 reinforces our shared confidence in the forum.
He said as leading members of D-8‚ Pakistan‚ Turkey and Iran can play a more pro-active role to achieve goals of economic development and prosperity.
Iranian Foreign Minister said "We are committed to enhance our cooperation with the democratic leadership of Pakistan. We will enhance bilateral cooperation and make it stronger.".
He said Iran would support all initiatives of Pakistan to eliminate terrorism. Iranian Foreign Minister said that President Karzai was confident that things were moving in right direction with help of Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan. Foreign Minister extended invitation, on behalf of President of Iran, to PM Nawaz Sharif to visit Iran in near future. PM Nawaz Sharif accepted the invitation of President of Iran.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that they will eliminate the scorch of terrorism from Pakistan. He said that terrorism is a disease, which has inflicted society and required joint efforts to cure it.
Prime Minister said this while talking to Dr. Chris Elias, President Bill, and Milinda Gates Foundation, at the head of delegation, which called on him at the PM House Islamabad on Thursday.
The Prime Minister said that the government of Pakistan is committed to eradicate polio from Pakistan. He added that Pakistan would benefit from the experiences of Bill and Milinda Foundation in fields of immunization and child mortality.
Nawaz expressed gratitude to Bill Gates foundation, on behalf of People of Pakistan, for making substantial contribution to Polio eradication initiative in Pakistan.
He said, "we would like to continue our close collaboration with the Gates Foundation to strengthen our national efforts as well as enabling us to play our important role in eradicating polio worldwide".
Expressing his views on their concerns regarding polio cases in some parts of FATA and Karachi, the Prime Minister said that we are ensuring the security of those working in conflict areas in order to provide full coverage to polio programme.
