Why can we increase the Scorpene order and instead of building it in India build it in france?

Forget about it- 17 year old RUSSIAN subs are not the way to go! Exercise the options for 3 more P-75 and fast track the P-75I procurement. Build on knowledge from SSBN ARIHANT CLASS and devlop SSN and SSK in-house (long term objective).

I read somewhere in the forum that French can deliver 5 subs in six year time.. I do not know how much it is true, but if it is real, we can get it earlier than expected..

Reasons why i think it is feasible:
1,Our problem is temporary.we need to fill the gap now.we will be crossing 20+ number after 2022.so,leasing for say 10 years will fill the gap it.
2,Adding more scorpions will be expensive as our order book is full as per our budget.
3,SSN are only in papers now.
4,Russians may have improved kilos which will be as per with Sindhurakshak.
5,It will be the fastest option ever.

Yes I think so- this was probably going to happen anyway as there has been rumours around this for some time. I don't know about the French constriction part. I would ONLY say this was a good idea if the French got to work whilst the intial order for 6 Scorpenes was being completed in India. If these 3 are only going to commence construction after the 6th is delivered then let the order go to Indian shipyards (MDL) as there will be the expertise and capacity in Indian shipyards for sub work come 2020/competion of 6th boat. I don't think the French could deliver much faster at that point.

Giving the current circumstances, we can ask French to built 3 of them parallel to our construction right?

All russian kilos are over 20 yrs old.I say take a short term risk and increase scorpene order to 9.Lease 1 more akula.
Increase the follow on P-75i to 9 subs as well with 4 instead of 2 off the shelf,thus we will quickly have met our projected 18 diesel electric hunter killers.Instead depending on 6+6 scorpene +p-75 I order AND some vague follow on indegeneous sub project that we all know won't materialize in timely fashion.Now once we have 18 diesel electrics by early 2020s we can retire our whole diesel fleet thats now getting dated.And still have

18 Solid diesel attack subs,all but 4 of the scorpenes with AIP.These scorpenes can be assigned bastion duty to escort and protect the SSBNs in defended friendly waters.
2 Akula SSNs.
3 arihant SSBns with larger follow on class coming.
Indigeneous SSN coming.

Now once we have this strong position,we can develop our indigeneous SSK at leisure by applying exp gained from p-75 and p-75I projects.

Nuclear is baap of diesel subs. Akula II 2nd coming shortly by 2019/2020(refit time). Scorpene delivery sept 2016, after P75I RFP signed sept 2013, deal sign 2015, delivery 2019/2020. Big decade ahead. Best of luck IN and MLD,CSL,etc.

actually you didn't understand the problem..we can't use Nuclear subs at coastal region,which has shallow depth..we only can use Nuclear subs at much larger depth as it is generally quite heavier than conventional subs,as well as much noisier..there is a reason why many country in spite of having nuclear subs(SSN) still using SSK(only USA is exception..but then,we don't hope to match their SSN tech sooner,right??)..we need our own production base of conventional subs..and it is best to tie up with an experienced country for that..

For that we have P8Is. Ever seen the ASuB warfare kit on a Car Nicobar class fast attack vehicle? Very useful.
