good suggestion but based on the interview, the F-22P seems to be a very capable platform for our needs.

Not to sound skeptical, but doing that wouldn't shift too much of weight to the forward section and decrease the balance of the ship while hard maneuvering? The type 45 was designed like that from the start so it wout have problems. But doing this would make the Zulfiqar a bit heavier in the forward position of the hull and shifting the CG of the ship which makes the ship difficult in tight turns while evading the enemies.

Well it can be equipped with the HQ-16 and if in length wise there is some problem to fix it in the current structure, the British Type-45 kind of arrangement can be done where the SAM structure is elevated above the ship deck just behind the main gun.

Looking at the deck where the HQ-7s are based, it can atleast house a 16 HQ-16 VLS.

I'm just thinking...HQ-16 might be the limit they can take F-22P, but feasibility wise, there are other options. For example, there is the South African Umkhonto-R (25km) and the Turkish VL-low to medium range SAM (25~29km).

HQ-16 has a range of 50~65km, it is on the edge of being a medium-long-range SAM...in fact, Janes reported that a 90km variant called HQ-17 was in development. With such a long-range missile the PN will require a more powerful radar, etc, and hence I question if this is within the scope of F-22P. If HHQ-16/17 was desired, they're better off procuring it via a larger surface ship - such as Type-054A.

Idk if a Chinese system could be integrated on a American platform. The ship coming in is missing its MK-13 launcher so maybe in place of that something can be done. Can be SM-2 be sold to pakistan ? It would also be great if pakistan decided to go to turkey for the Genesis program upgrade on these ships. That upgrade would add a 8-cell Mk-41 VLS for Evolved Sea Sparrow in the front and with a large subsystems overhaul and upgrade.

very little chance of such a thing happening..
uotill now PN have not spend a penny on these platforms and with intrest to modrenise its fleet, they might be least intrested in spending on this decades old platform.

these are only number fillers and can/will most probable be used in anti-piracy roles.

Ah so there is no plans to make these viable for naval combat ? The current armament is lacking on these ships. Were the purchase of these due to budget issues ?
