Admiral Karambir Singh will visit several key military establishments.

New Delhi:

Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh began a four-day-long visit to Bangladesh on Saturday with an aim to further consolidate maritime cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, Admiral Karambir Singh will hold extensive talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, besides meeting the other service chiefs and senior military officials, the Indian Navy said.

Sources said the two navy chiefs are expected to deliberate on regional security scenario including China's growing forays into the Indian Ocean region and its military assertiveness in the South China Sea.

"The visit is intended to consolidate and enhance the bilateral maritime relations between India and Bangladesh," a Navy statement said.

Admiral Karambir Singh will visit several key military establishments including the Khulna Shipyard Limited, Bangladesh's naval bases in Chattogram and Khulna and address cadets at the Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA).

In addition, he will participate in the first-anniversary celebration of Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD), the Navy said.

The Bangladesh Navy is an active member of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS), a forum for maritime cooperation among navies of the littoral states of the Indian Ocean Region.

There has been increasing cooperation between Indian and Bangladeshi navies and they regularly engage through staff talks, annual defence dialogue and other operational interactions.

These Indian military people visit Bd one after another to neutralize it in its war in the west.

Can you explain further please.
The way Bangladesh is building its Military Power it's clear who they have in mind and it's not Mayanmar. Bangladeshis may not like Pakistan but vast majority hates India. The moment Hasina regime vanishes things will start changing. Also if Bangladesh also stars massive inductions for its Air Force India will get more aggressive towards Bangladesh which would eventually lead to some sort of conflict. Also every 2nd day India kills Bangladeshis on border.

Two faced filth the Sanghis are, be very careful of them.
Good thing the navy is being upgraded one after another... or else they could easily put a naval blockade on our narrow access to international water and starve our economy... no wonder these filths got bum hemorrhages with just two Chinese submarines.

I'm always amazed how India with its Dadagiri attitude expects us to roll out the red carpet for its Navy Chief who 'Has to' visit sensitive installations in the name of 'friendly visits' with a full entourage (some of them no doubt being RAW operatives) taking notes of our combat readiness level and operational details. We are left with no option except to smile and accommodate.

I wonder if our Navy top brass decided to visit their newest Kolkata class destroyers and training installation for subs and P8I anti-sub patrol operation center, they'd accommodate or not??

Regardless if they do or not, we should try. That way we'll have an excuse to say NO next time.

India wants a peaceful border in its east while it has an issue in LoC in Kashmir. No strategist ever wants a two-front conflict. I would not say BD will get involved in the India-Pakistan war. However, India does not want BD to move its military to the border during any war in its west which is a common military practice. It will free India's resources in the east that can be moved to the west and extend the war all along its international border with Pakistan.
