i cant say about this one. it was a news so i shared. But there had been incidents where they have shot down helis though not accepted by invader forces

I just checked some stats of Reaper Drone.

It can operate at altitude of around 50,000 feet. At such a height, it cannot be shot down by stinger or anza type weapons.

These drones can fire from massive altitudes:

Sir UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) was not carrying any pilot in this particular flight. But learning a lesson, American pilots should be careful while boarding UAVs in Future.

They are operated remotely. So they are prone to hacking. Few years back a Professor from one of the UK universities was able to hack into NATO satellite and able to record video feed which he later released to BBC. NATO said we had lowered the security and we were aware of it all the time.

How does one get software code from a crashed drone, and then develop the satellite logistics necessary to support real time long distance operation?

Other than that, the rest of the drone is just a big fancy model airplane!

yes i also think that timing of the crash is bad. It occurred in the same day that corps commanders conference dicided to respond to any warm entry from NATO.

There is difference between reverse engineering and copying. Reverse engineering means that you get input from a particular thing and then create a similar thing giving you same results. You can cut it, open it and study it and then find solution in your own way. This is same as solving a question by two different methods. I think you are mixing up thing with copying definitely that is not possible.
