i do not know but my sense is saying that BD is planning for reserve engineering of MBT2000 because initially plan was to buy 14 units. So something is fishy, no one buy that low amount unless you have plan of reverse engineering.

do not know, may be already has invested, may be that is why BD has bought only 44 units of MBT2000 for research which is basic version of Al-khalid 2 tank
