Narendra Modi's Foreign Policy Year in Review, Part 1

she was elected because , IB was in her support, sabotaging and doing espionage against the Opposition. RN Kao had warned her not to go for emergency but she did not listen and lost.

I am a Pakistani, but I know more than about your intel games than you ;)
if an intelligence org can elect a PM by popular mandate(very few PMs in India had popular mandate, american president style), I think that service is as powerful as God... lolz..
You are disregarding BJP's brilliant campaign, anti corruption civil groups(indirectly helped BJP, even though they did not want to) which were primarily responsible.
Funny, they could not capture delhi even though Modi was campaigning nonstop, making it his personal issue, even though they poured money like water.

Whats your take on coservative victory in UK? MI5 helped? Mature democracies have different dynamics.

The problem is they watch Indian democracy thru their own lens.......... You cant blame them if they say Intelligence agencies and military helped to win elections.....

That's why CIA is termed as God on earth for Americans.

dont know how important CIA is, because you got to have deep pocket(money) to run a successful campaign in US. So its mostly big companies and lobbies who got high influence.
Similar in India too, but we dont have two party system, so businessmen pay to all parties instead of one party.
Indian intelligence agencies are manned by civilians(they are from administrative/police services), an impotant difference from CIA/ISI.

The writer is living in some sort of la la land and so are our friends from across the border. So Modi's India is sky rocketing. Good for you guys but wait why bring Pakistan into the whole discussion because we are not worth the hassle? Right! So is this self paranoid mode that kicks in even when the writer is so desperately trying to ignore Pakistan but cannot refrain from doing so and brings Pakistan into the equation.

Anyway coming to the topic Pakistan is not worth the hassle (good) yet India continues to invest to marginalize Pakistani interests and its security, Modi goes all the way to China to somehow make the Chinese back down from investing in Pakistan (which they didn't give two hoots) all that and yet no hassle. Well if thats what you call it, I believe you Mr Rohan Joshi.

By the way if India does not want to engage Pakistan, Pakistan is not dying either. We have no interests in Modi's India neither does the world starts and end with India. But rest assured you hurt us, we will hurt you back and just to be clear Kashmir is not India.

It is good to know that Pakistan is not dying to talk with India, because I don't think there will be any serious talks between India and Pakistan in future. We want Azad Kashmir and you want J&K. I guess no government of the day, both in India and Pakistan, can see the light if it were to compromise on these positions.

Rest assured India has no intentions of hurting Pakistan in spite of what your government and media is telling you about RAW. We have more important thing to tackle...our economy and new employment generation.

If your elections were so clear and transparent without changing the public's mandate through ideology, then India today would be a different India.

No doubt, you are a biggest democracy, but politics uses every thing on its disposal. And if any of the security agency decides to support a party indirectly then it is something else.

Modi is power full because he has IB support where it is necessary. He comes to know about everything happening in a village in a remote area. He has used it very well and IB thinks that Modi is only the candidate with whom they can work better.

I think it is a fair point to invest the limited time and energy where you get the return on investment.

USA/Japan/Australia/major European countries/East Asia for investment and markets and strategic relations.

China for mutual benefits to maximize convergence while managing the real issues.

Countries with significant Indian diaspora

Non eternally hostile neighbors to have better relations and more economic integration.

.
lol. So care to elaborate how IB engineered the BJP victory? And more importantly why Vajpayee lost to congress led by a foreigner? Not once but twice.
Indian elections are increasingly free and fair. But yes, there is gundagiri, cheating, etc even now. Their effect is marginal.

Information war fare. negotiating intra party , for not fighting with eachother.

I never said IB and RAW support a Party all the time. But they do it when it is necessary. So does ISI and CIA and others.

Pakistan is not a priority and you would see that Modi has hardly spent any time on the issue.

We don't think of Pakistan as an enemy. At least not an "eternal enemy". We just need no terrorists coming from there and blowing up in our cities. Rest they matter less than Somalia or Libya as far as India is concerned.

This is as of now, it can change in the future if better sense prevails there and economic relations get better. We will wait till that time and focus on managing the situation as needed in the interim.

Things may be very different in a few decades.

Actually IB and RAW come under the Prime Minister. India is a nation of 800 million voters. The number is too big for someone to engineer the out come.

You don't to have speak to 800 million voters to Manipulate elections and do info war. Man :hitwall:

yes IB and raw come under PM, but during UPA they were under madam. And madam has framed IB to gain muslims vote and defame Modi. And FYI Ishrat jehan encounter happened when Doval was IB chief and Modi CM of Gujrat on the tip of IB by IB.

Pakistan being our neighbor is an important country. But, as you have written before, time spent on Pakistan would not have had yielded any result. Modi did the right thing by investing his time on SAARC countries, US, Japan, China and Europe that yielded rich dividends for India

If elections would have been manipulated, AAP would not have had won 67 out of 70 seats when BJP is at helm in Delhi. No political party in India ever has blamed the loss of elections on cheating and manipulation.

Yes, they are not important as of now because the trade relations are insignificantly small as of now.

It may change in the future but the change has to come from within. I don't think people expect that to happen in the short term so while there is potential, it will remain untapped for some time.

In my opinion Pakistan is not important because Pakistan for us is a trading opportunity, but because a peaceful neighborhood is good for India's progress. In this regard, Pakistan is as important for India as is Bhutan or Nepal or Bangladesh
