Who needs RAW when MQM is in Karachi? They have links with RAW, CIA and MI6 and all thanks to Musharaf who gave them new life when they were in a state of dispersment. Remember what MQM did in Karachi after Mumbai attacks? Dozens of people were killed and injured during riots in Karachi.

The committee was informed that China had threatened to stop all its ongoing projects, including Neelum Jehlum Hydro Power Project, if Pakistan does not help execute the Safe City Project through its company Hawaii after the Supreme Court has declared the project illegal. The committee showed its reservation as one of its members said: "It shows that China at any time could withdraw from any mega project including the Gwadar project."

I am always skeptical about Pak China relations and above news clearly shows we can't rely on China for everything. We need to review our foreign policy and we should diversify our options. It will happen only when we have strong economy but it looks next to impossible under the leadership of Musharaf, Kyani, Zardari and Nawaz. I hope Gen. Raheel Sharif is different from them.

I visited to Sohrab goth long back and then come to know that NADRA offer home delivery service to afghans and they are paying Rs. 100000/- and got Pakistani CNIC card at home.

I recall sitting in the waiting room to get my picture taken at our consulate in Dubai. There were stacks of NICOP applications sitting right there in the visitor area. I could've easily picked one up or slipped one in without anyone noticing a thing. RAW agents are fool to waste the cash buying out insiders.

This "Safe City" is just a bunch of CCTV Camera's connected to a central grid. And few screens installed in a central location where no one will bother to look at them. I can already imagine fat Islamabad puls walas' reading akhbar and sipping chaa while completely ignoring whats happening on the screen.

For reference, see what happened in Lagos, Nigeria. They too bought a similar system from another Chinese company ZTE. Google for further information.

I am not a sino-phobe, neither am I against involving foreign companies for complex projects. But this is pathetic. Anyone who knows anything about these systems will tell you that 10 college kids with materials from College Road, Rawalpindi will deliver a better system for 1/10000th of this cost.

Company officials probably bribed the right people and showed some fancy presentations to get this contract. GOD how I wish we had some honest and tech savvy people in our government.

The agents of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) the premier intelligence agency of India, Iranian, Bangladesh nationals along with Hezbollah activists have obtained Pakistani Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) in connivance with the officials of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control alleged on Wednesday.

"I have sufficient proof regarding the involvement of Nadra officials in the issuance of CNICs to agents of RAW, Iranian, Bangladesh nationals along with the activists of Hezbollah," he claimed while chairing a meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control.

Through a laptop connected with the main database of the Nadra foreign nationals enter their data to get CNICs, according to him. He said that most of such cases have occurred in Karachi, hence Nadra officials in Karachi should be investigated. He directed the Nadra chief to investigate the matter and submit a report before the committee as soon as possible.

Acting Chairman Nadra Imtiaz Tajwar; however, said that Nadra has a complete secure system that had a four-tier security checks. The authority would thoroughly investigate the matter and a strict action would be taken against the officials involved. Tajwar said that Nadra system facing attacks from hackers on a daily basis; 50 percent from the US, 30 percent from India and 20 percent from Israel, but the system of the authority is too strong to resist such attacks.

The committee expressed its annoyance over the chronic absence of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in the meeting. Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that the Interior Minister never bothered to attend even a single meeting since he took oath of his office. "The whole world is being misled in the name of democracy in Pakistan, while situation speaks otherwise, as targeted killings, terrorism and kidnapping for ransom become a routine business. Peshawar is listed among the ten most dangerous cities of the world," he said. He said the Interior Minister is responsible for defending his Ministry and answerable to the parliament.

Senator Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamrah Aajiz, Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, Shahi Syed and Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hasni staged a token walk-out from the meeting against the continued absence of Interior Minister. Shahid Ahmed, member finance Nadra, informed the committee that Hawaii Company of China has started over worth $124.5 million Safe City project Islamabad, including the construction of Command and Control Centre (CCC) and lying of 500-kilometer fiber. "The authority has set up a demo site at NTC building; ad it has and also install four demo cameras at different places," he said. He said that under the agreement equipment of the project would be shifted after completion of the CCC. "Following the directives of Interior Minister, the ministry will hire foreign consultants for examining the quality and other aspects of equipments," he said.

Ahmad said that the Safe City Project will be completed in June, 2015 and Hawaii company will impart training regarding execution of the project to police officials. Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said the credit of initiating the Safe City Project goes to Senate's Standing Committee on Interior.

why these MC (replace it with a common urdu gali) chairman of senate committee only keeping these proof to themselves and not prosecuting the culprits...This country seems more and more like a banana republic everyday where govt officials are only blaming the criminal elements instead of taking action...I want to tell these chairman, senators, MPA and MNAs to read my lips you harami ki auladoo, its your job to commit the law and order in this land not just discuss it in the assemblies.
