NAB laid down condition for Nawaz Travel to the UK

I'm finding this all fascinating, and im coming out very much critical of IK on this matter, despite pulling off this brilliant move, im still extremely disappointed.

1) there is the issue of VIP culture. how is there even a discussion of sending NS out of the country, when there are thousands of people rotting in jail, no doubt many of them with health issues. this extends to the plea bargain too - I dont like the idea of letting either NS or AZ off if they pay back money. they should both pay back money and rot in jail, thats what happens to all other thieves, although I suppose if this is the only way the country can get its money back, perhaps its understandable, if not acceptable.

2) secondly, the vote today to let him go conditionally, was allegedly done under the pretence of compassion. WHY is any compassion being shown to this convicted criminal, particularly when the whole PTI campaign was about anti-corruption?

3) why havent they received proper health and legal advice before doing anything? there's rumours all over the place from independent panels of doctors saying that NS is in a life threatening position, to NS just needs a couple of tests that are not available here, to the results are concocted. why isnt there clarity in a press release of exactly what and who has examined him? equally with the legality. NAB nor the government wants the responsibility for when NS absconds, which he will. he is going to Harley street, which everyone on the planet knows is an extraordinarily expensive street for private medical practice - they will issue whatever notice you pay them to issue, so 100% guaranteed they will write that he cannot travel and has to stay in the UK. some politicians are saying there is no legal grounds for him to leave the country, others are saying there is no restriction on him leaving, its all a total mess and nothing is clear. with all that confusion, why are they having cabinet meetings and votes, without being fully informed?

4)which other prisoners are allowed out on bail because a family member is sick? on what basis did the LHC/IHC allow maryam to escape jail, and will they allow all prisoners whose parents are sick to leave on bail? this may have some explanation, im not sure whether she is currently in jail pending investigation, or for conviction; I know her previous conviction was bailed pending appeal.

All of this while the sharif family have a deep and long history of absconding.

Essentially the conditions that the PTI have placed are essentially the same as a plea bargain, so that will be the explanation - but this whole process of voting him out on compassion, including an alleged vote from IK, is going to lose them a tonne of votes and support.

@The Eagle @ps3linux @newb3e @PakSword @Mangus Ortus Novem @Path-Finder @Farah Sohail @Signalian @Arsalan @ghazi52 @IceCold @Major Sam @Zibago Some of you may remember about some posts asking for some suggestions to improve laws and jail manual against corrupt back in >>April 2019<< and then again a better organized post in >>May 2019<< ... A basic frame work to recover looted wealth...plz do read if you haven't before.

Wasn't it a better time to start to work towards pressurizing the corrupt into giving up amounts involved in particular cases in plea bargain, but more importantly, in addition of an under the table deal for the rest of the amassed billions of dollars that can not be brought back via standard NAB plea bargain.

PTI would have won the hearts of people by moving against the Rich convicts instead of putting pressure on poor people...When people were starting to feel the pinch of large electricity bills... then PTI should have struck with changes, starting with the Jail manuals...just required executive orders...nothing to do with parliament but nothing was done...even ordinances could have been used towards stricter laws where needed... to put necessary pressure - carrots as well as sticks policy - on the corrupt and extract some part of the wealth amassed as millions of dollars worth of each property involved, dozens of them no less if not hundreds...

A complete rethink of the whole current strategy or lack of it, is required no less and the task is gargantuan to say the least but effort has to be made or we would just watch the corrupt get away one by one without any meaningful recovery.

LoL - Not a single penny returned to Pakistan by Sharifs or Zardari Families, made a fool out of PTI, NAB Army and the biggest fools, loss to 200 million Pakistanis, looted Pakistan dry.

(1) His own family and party are refusing to pay the surety bond.
(2) He has broken previous agreements which involved other countries.
(3) The country he wants to run to hosts at least 5 members of his family who are absconding from Justice.

what the hell are you talking about??? this is EXCELLENT...its a rapid short cut to recovering the looted wealth from him involved in the cases against him. you KNOW his fat arse is NOT gonna be back once it leaves so the the bonds worth billions that he'll give us so THAT he can leave will ALL come back into the national treasury!
What he will pledge will be peanuts compared to that which he has looted.
This is an absolute travesty.

the 10 million dollars is the gateway to recovery of even foreign assets. adding in this bail after conviction is considered as an admission of guilt in international law PROVIDED it is an under a democratic government.

If Nawaz maintains he was coerced into a forced submission and that he would have been poisoned had he not left pakistan regardless it were his own people trying to poison him. .. you know easy to make up such stories.. and defend hem for years and years till one sees natural deathand then there are new heirs.

that argument only works against dictatorships, not democracies with an established constitution & an independent judicial system.

that's irrelevant...the point is that it's taken as an acceptance of the status of being a convict who has been released on bail or temporary parole by int'l law.

Laws don't apply to the rich and powerful in Pakistan.
They'll be back as soon as the political climate changes.
The poor and weak of this country are condemned to the slavery and whims of these kleptocrats.
For them 1947 never happened.

I am ashamed that letter of law is being bent by Imran Khan and his cabinet because Sharifs struck an under the table deal with establishment because they are Rich and powerful VIPs who can Pay for escape.

Why not publicly do plea bargain?

Why not let go after the government forgoes punishment in exchange of plea bargain?

Why break the law that no Convict can leave the country?

If the convicts are pardoned after plea bargain then they can go anywhere...

So I ask both the Powerful establishment and the under pressure government:

Why not use the relief available in LAW, why mock the poor people of Pakistan?

Why go against the saying of the Prophet SAW that people got destroyed where there was one set of laws for poor and another for the Rich???

Bro status quo is very very powerful . They have roots which are not easy to cut. Due to current circumstances let it be under the table .

Nawazu is haddi stuck in throat na baher ae na nigli jae, ready for another u turn by IK as Nawaz not in a hurry to leave Pakistan without his conditions.

What exactly is wrong with this decision? The courts gave him bail for medical reasons & Nawaz is required to put his properties down as collateral and guarantee that he will return. The government is not paying for his treatment.

He has put down collateral and guarantee to the court against bail. This is additional to that and government has put this condition.

Not sure government can do this.

I'm not exactly a lawyer, but the collateral presented to the court was for securing bail.

This collateral is for getting his name out of the ECL.

Unless getting bail automatically means getting your name out of the ECL, then this does make logical sense. Don't know about the legal aspect of it though.

Here's the bottom line, it's the government's prerogative to accept his plea or deny it AND anything in between. One extreme it to deny it while the other extreme is to unconditionally grant it. The in between is to conditionally grant it. Take it or leave it. If the gongla league goes to court then the government can simply say that fine then let the court decide whether he stays on the ecl or is taken off ecl. We won't say anything either way and don't bother asking us again cuz we'll just refer you back to the courts.

it's a checkmate for both the gonglas and the courts that are too afraid to take responsibility.

The legal aspact is the real game. There is also the aspact that if Nawaz goes abroad and does not return, then courts will hold GOP responsible.

According to the letter of the law, no convict can be removed from ECL. This much is clearly mentioned.

What is amazing is that in the verve of khotaism, High court wrote in its judgement granting bail to Nawaz that he can go abroad for medical treatment.

Never in history of Pakistan has a convict ever allowed to go abroad.

GOP thus obliging high court, has played its own unprecedented card by asking for collateral against ECL removal, which is also not written or permitted anywhere in law (just like highcourt allowing convict to go abroad, lol).

So now, if Sharifs go to court against Government then GOP will have the opportunity to highlight highcourt order being unprecedented to justify its own unprecedented demand for collateral, lol.

If now highcourt sides with Nawaz, as it did while granting bail to Nawaz, then it will be clearly exposed as all the more biased and will be held responsible of letting Nawaz go abroad without any guarantees, thus judiciary itself will be responsible if Nawaz goes absconder and does not return to face court cases against himself.

This looks like the game within the game.
