Educate me.

Cheers, Doc

Not my job.

But you do realize just because Alexander hired Persians on his way to India, did not make his Army, Persian. It remained a Macedonian army with Philips reforms.

Anyhow this circus is not worth detour.

You are derailing by bringing the Macedonians and Persians in.

Do you disagree with my original statement?

That Urdu GREW as a link garrison tongue between the Indic foot soldiers and their foreign Muslim superiors and troops.

Not entirely true but can be painted as such that the language grew out of necessity.

The Mughals did not like intermixing with the subjects and it took Akbar a great persuasion to stay in India and call it home. Even his poetry is filled with his contempt for the locals and his longing to return to the valleys of Afghanistan.

Your just butthurt that your "national language" was created in India. And then you say we are obsessed with you lot:omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:
gandhi spent all his life hating urdu and trying to replace it with hindi
here in 21st century some braindead sanghis are claiming it as their own lmao
your RSS purhas must be rolling in their graves Oh wait:secret:

Good point. Many Mughal emperers were also born in India. Aurangzeb is a good example. Thanks for reminding me.
did you just embraced Aurangzeb as your own? be very careful some of your compatriots might even try to lynch you

There are 80 million native speakers of Urdu in India. You are aware that there are over 200 million muslims in India right?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urdu

And your statement makes no sense. If most Italians moved to America and continued speaking Italian in the US, would Italian be an American language?
Anyone who can understand or write in urdu isnt considered an active speaker of urdu. And by the way 200 mil + population of pakistan speaks urdu.

Pakistanis have nothing in common with Indians except Punjabis, and some Gujaratis. And that's it!

Punjabi Muslims are very different people than Sikhs, we don’t share much in common except language.

Even then Punjabi spoken in Pakistan has major differences from Sikh Punjabi. Since Partition, Punjabi (and its dialects) has moved closer to other Pakistani languages (like Pukhto) and developed a strong independent identity in Pakistan.

Muhajir/Urdu Speakers are the only major ethnic link Pakistan still has with India, but many Urdu speakers are picking up where their ancestors left off during partition and championing Pakistani nationalism.

Even then, it is the older generation of the recent immigrants from 1971 (Biharis) who may have some nostalgia for both the culture of India and Bangladesh. This generation is passing away.

no 200 million is the total number of native Urdu speakers in the world. Not all Pakistanis are native Urdu speakers
