What's new

My husband, Owais Raheel, is NOT a terrorist

I know man......I remember being handed a HT flyer outside Sultan Masjid after friday prayers. I don't know why and how i took one, while looking for and putting on my shoes, i thought it was some charity or something for flood relief. However, when i read it, it was HT one.......and i wanted to tear it and throw it away right then and there, but it had 'ALLAH' written on it, so i couldn't and brought it home so i could dispose it off in a proper manner. My mom saw the flyer sitting on my desk, and she is like, son, you having some problems?
.... Plenty of examples in the military as well. Naval dockyard attack is one example. Son of a well do IG of Police turned terrorist. Some people take religion too seriously and go into some weird stuff.
A friend who is a fresh graduate, got employed as ... It is part of your work. Now, nothing wrong with prayers, but forcing that is definitely borderline and extreme.
old? and how many are 20 or 30 somethings? Our generation went through some fcuked up times.
Agree with you on this .. :undecided:

Why the hell did you not report it? You should have noted the person, taken a secret photo of him, note license plate numbers etc. DO YOUR PART YAR!

Edit: Just saw your flag, maybe you received it in UK where it isn't banned. Got confused because Sultan Masjid is a famous mosque in Karachi.

It was Sultan Masjid in DHA Karachi.......and i didn't report because i didn't see what exactly it was. You know, there is crowd at the gate looking and putting their shoes on. This was around 2 years ago, Rangers operation had not started. Even Jamat ud Dawa people distributed their bullshyt, and there are always cops on duty outside mosques, especially Sultan Masjid.

I can understand in India this kind of thing happens due to suspect of Muslims youth being alligned with terrorists...But surprised to see even this thing happens in Pakistan too...
Rangers are not crazy to pick him for no reason these people are quite good at fooling their families who are already blinded by love to show them who they really are.

A few of my friends at Szabist took courses from him and all dropped those courses after a couple of weeks. They found him too 'mullah type'.......not saying having a beard should qualify you for suspicion, but it was known in Szabist that this guy had some sinister ideas. Apparently, Rangers have asked for background info on all teachers at Szabist now.....and if this was intelligence based arrest to be done by police, then i am sure they have enough evidence.

We will find out more if he is prosecuted, and if under the Military courts or normal Civilian ones.
Avoid using Mullah type term beard is Sunnah of PROPHET SAW. These terms only end up making more extremists as for his arrest I am pretty sure rangers had something really solid against him

JuD is legal, HuT isn't.

Imagine the shit-storm from PDF Pakistanis if this was in India; would have brought out all the guns from "fake secularism" to "Jinnah was right".
A member of a minority community being supposedly mistreated is very different from a member of the majority being supposedly mistreated - this is true everywhere in the world.

The funny thing is, every other day we hear Indians shouting about how much evil Pakistanis indoctrinate students and what not - and now that someone who could be involved in actual indoctrination is arrested, ''oh look evil agencies mistreating people for speaking their views''.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

As for the article, of course his wife thinks - or at least says - he is innocent. Her opinion holds no weight for me, and it would hold no weight in court.

He must've been up to something - the agencies have much better things to do than arresting Professors for no reason.

Besides, if one innocent is arrested in an operation that could prevent fifty innocents being murdered by some indoctrinated student, that's an acceptable margin of error.
Some people take religion too seriously
That's not the problem - the problem is that some people take religion 'seriously' as long as that means listening to whatever some Mullah says; the moment they have to use some brain and logic is when they start feeling that is too much of a commitment and realize that they'd rather return to being ignorant of what their religion actually says.

I'd prefer people actually took their religion seriously. If they did, they would never have allowed any of the corruption and abuse of religion to cause violence for the sake of political or personal interests that we see nowadays.

If he is innocent, then he should be released and those trying to frame him brought to trial.

If he is allied with some terrorist or semi-terrorist organization like Hizb-ut-Tahrir.. then he is deserves nothing less than what he is going through.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple anymore. Post - 9/11, counter-terrorism and internal investigation agencies in many countries have been given a complete mandate to do whatever they think necessary to stop terror attacks. In many cases, it can meant illegal and wrongful detention. There is every chance that this unfortunate person will be eliminated before he can be free to complain about his wrongful confinement. The sheer helplessness of the woman is painful, to say the least.

You are right about the planted part, but the thing is, with so many people borderline fanatics, they don't need to be planted, they'll just be working alongside you and me. Surprisingly, they will be very good with their work, and hence no one would be able to even imagine if such guys are caught, and they will actually advance in their careers. Plenty of examples in the military as well. Naval dockyard attack is one example. Son of a well do IG of Police turned terrorist. Some people take religion too seriously and go into some weird stuff.
A friend who is a fresh graduate, got employed as a management trainee in a big textile unit in Korangi area. So i was asking him how is work environment like etc.....and he says, the owner of the factory is a devout mullah. for Asr prayers he asks the production to be shutdown and everyone is requested to proceed to the prayers area. It is part of your work. Now, nothing wrong with prayers, but forcing that is definitely borderline and extreme.

But this wouldn't happen in 1960s......it has taken 4 decades for this to creep in. How many terrorists caught are 60+ years old? and how many are 20 or 30 somethings? Our generation went through some fcuked up times.

Right now, we need to literally go to war with HT. Find their foot soldiers, find their local leadership and start reporting them to the agencies. These people are possibly more dangerous than the TTP now and they need to be exterminated.

Then that SsP should have gone to the court to inform the court about the custody of that person ?
Which he didn't ?why ?
That's from where all the dam , doubts starts ?
If rangers has picked him up , then it can be seen more reasonable , cause they investigate & if found innocent they releases all of innocents most of them ? but sindh police has no reputation to be counted on ?
It could be another effort to sabotage the Karachi operation by getting the innocent peoples ?
Every one knows that , police of zardari is issuing the ads against rangers ?
It can be a conspirated , twist .

HuT can be called the teddy bear version of ISIS

I dont really agree with a lot of stuff they say esp. on their disgust for Pak Army and their stance on issues like the Syria crisis but i dont think they have anything to do with terrorism (there might be lone wolves acting on their own but not really their method).

I f they are what you say they are, how are they openly working in North America, Europe and Australia and no govt. takes any action against them there? I have yet to see any of them being implicated for some terrorism. BTW this is not the first time their people are being picked up, they keep disappearing and they come back home after sometime.

What exactly is on the pamphlet they distribute that makes them objectionable? If someone wants caliphate should he be labelled a terrorist? Its an ideology , just like another one called communism .If you try to suppress any they gain public sympathy and will spring back.

Can you implicate the communist party of Pakistan to be terrorist as well? they want Pakistan to be a communist state.

Just keep evetything same...Replace Pakistan with India...Do you feel your impression will be same too??

WOW, People really think that agencies have this much free time & resources that they will pick any Tom Dick & Harry ? ... they don’t ... if he was innocent & not involved in any terrorism related activities he would have been released within 2-3 days. It is his own fault to follow the trash of the Nation & putting his family through anguish. his family may not deserve what they are getting but he deserves double the punishment for making his family go through all this.

No. Because of the simple concept that a member of a minority being mistreated is very different to a member of majority being mistreated.

Read my post again and try to grasp this simple idea.
A member of a minority community being supposedly mistreated is very different from a member of the majority being supposedly mistreated - this is true everywhere in the world.

However, if we were to replace Pakistan with India and replace the Muslim (in Pakistan's case, a Muslim would be a member of the majority) with a Hindu in a Hindu majority country (India) - then yes, my impression will be exactly the same.
