@AndrewJin ,

Awesome pictures of Hong Kong, btw. Also, wanted to say that if you ever want to shop till you drop, definitely the open shops in Kowloon is a place to go. But if you want to eat , stop by the Lei Yu Mun fish market. You pick what fish, shark, eel, octopus, crab etc you want to be cooked and they literally chop it up and cook it for you. That is always one thing i do whenever i'm in HK because man, the food over there --- is hard to find anywhere else in the world.

Next time i want to try the giant starfish they sell at the fish market. They say it tastes better than Chilean Sea Bass. ;) ;) ;)

I've been to northwestern Yunnan Province for 3 times. I'll post mainly on 2014 Yunnan trip and mix it with my previous two.

I did't spend a night in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province this time. After fly from Shanghai, I took a shuttle bus to kunming Railway Station where I transferred to a slow day train directly to Lijiang, a UNESCO site.

Kunming Railway Station
My train K9612 took about 8 hours for this mountainous single-track route, approximately 520km(hard seat 49RMB, hard bed 107RMB, soft bed 167RMB). Kunming is expected to link HSR system in the coming 2years, a Kunming-Shanghai HSR line.

These were Kunming in my 2010 trip.
Last time there I found not Metro system, but when I reached Kunming Airport and found out there is a 3-line system and more under construction.

This is just absolutely breathtaking, my friend. The design, the architecture, the color of traditional Chinese design yet coalesces with Christianity. This is the very example , the very manifestation of Chinese fluidity and adaptability. @Yizhi , we mentioned this in our last talk . Man, i want to visit this place in the future.

Also, thank you for posting pictures of the city of Dali. I've heard so much of Dali, but have never been here before. Will definitely have to do what you have done. In hte future i would like to do an HSR trip from Guangzhou all the way to Heilongjiang. Maybe stop by Ningbo for some traditional noodles and shopping. ;) ;)

Thank You, again for these pictures.
Arigadou Gozaimasu!!!!!

I do hope and pray, my friend, that the Central Urban Planning Bureau takes notice of these pictures and does so to send funds to preserve these local icons, these are the very thesis of cultural artifacts that defines the character and nature of this region, this province. I can only imagine how old these buildings are, perhaps centuries, if not thousands of years old as there are temples such as these in Japan that are 8 centuries old , some even over a millenia. They are literally the window for us to peek into the history of our forebears.

Seeing these pictures, it is a reminder for me and many others who Love the Chinese History and Chinese Culture --- how ancient this land really is.

Thank You again.

that's my hometown, bro. welcome to visit someday.
better come in summer, winter snow would close the mountains from roughly October to May, and you Southerners (Hubei is south, right?) could be turned into human Popsicles.:)
