HH Dalai Lama must be protected now. If anything happens to him India will earn a bad name. The 'silent peaceful majority' (SIPEM) may indeed target him now. The threat is very real. Also the Buddhists in India may also face problems from the SIPEMs. It is unfortunate and I hope the security agencies should prepare for the eventualities.

Make NO mistake, if he is harmed/killed there will only be pin drop silence + fake condolensces or outright celebrations from some.

Why don't you check the book of a renowned Bangladeshi author instead?

Dalai Lama is a very very revered man in India. He is given the protocol of a head of state. He runs the Tibetan govt. in exile which is not recognized by India. In fact, the govt. of India's stand on Tibet is pro-china and opposed to Dalai Lama's stand. India has given him and his followers asylum despite having opposing political views. Yet he and his followers can stay in India for life and for generations. Anyone who is given asylum in our country can never be asked to go back. Its not our culture.
We have also given shelter to one Tasleema Nasreen who gives an opinion on every controversial topic on India and Indians to the extent it irritates many but still I will oppose any move to deport her against her wishes.

Afaik Dalai Lama himself has now sided with the Chinese position on Tibet. @Chinese-Dragon I believe mentioned this before.
