No offence, but in the Indian context, beating of wives (in drunken stupor, followed by forced copulation) is a lot more common and prevalent among Hindus.

I'm not saying Muslims are innocent. But we have a billion Hindus. Do the math.

Little wonder then that alcohol has been banned in my state under pressure from the women. Across all strata of society.
