I tell you an incident, I once parked my car close to school to drop off my nieces to school and when i returned this woman who parked her car behind me came to me with racist remarks you asians came from asia and this and that, you know my meter was up what I replied to her and her retreat is the same as when a dog puts his tail between his legs and runs away.

I said we Asians came 2-3 decades ago as immigrants, you people came 10 decades ago to this land this is the only difference, we are both immigrants "not native indigenous people", while we paid enough to the govt came in style in jets, you people came in ****** ships for months traveling by ships free to inhabit stolen land. rest i cannot post here it'll make you laugh that lady actually got scared when i dialed my phone lol.

As for the video, it's a classic example of the Media trying to get a story out of an incident, it's got nothing to do with racism.

The camera guy wanted to provoke the muslim man into a rage so he would have a story to report and it worked.

The White people developed their lands without much help from us asians, you can argue that they stole/discover land and stole other countries riches but they did it all themselves. Asians who now go to the west or even Australia do so for a better future for themselves which also results in improving the economy of the country they migrate to.
I haved lived in Melbourne for 3 years as a student and all the so called racist attacks on Indains started while i was there. These were petty thefts done by teenagers, they felt that students were an easy arget as they travelled alone and at night. Most of these incidents started of in a few western suburbs where a sizeable local population is unemployed along with other problems of unemployment like voilence and drug abuse. The rents in these areas are very low and as students from subcontinent grew in number it became an attraction for them due to low cost of living but they paid the price heavily. This news when reached the media it was obviously taken as racist attacks and then things turned a bit bad.
The demonstrations which someone earlier mentioned where held mostly by the taxi drivers' union. An indian student/Taxi driver was stabbed in his cab and was left at a curb to die in sub 0 degree temp. his cab was also stolen. This emotionaly stired up the Indian caby contingent and a few Pakistani (taxi drivers) friends of mine who knew the injured guy forced me to come along to the demonstrations in the CBD. We stayed there all night long and blocked the flinders and swanston st. intersection. Long story short the next morning transport minister agreed to all the demands of the cabbys and the inured guy also survived the attack. moral of the story is that there maybe a few bad apples but if you stick togather and ask for your rights you will get them, something you cannot be guarenteed back in your own country.

Thanks for posting. Its no secret that Australia is full of intolerance esp. racial intolerance. i've been visiting there of and on since the mid 70s and have seen little change. As a matter of fact, it amazed me then that a country that was born out of a penal settlement (social outcasts) could afford to carry such an attitude. All epitomised in the personality of "Bazza Mackenzie". But that's life. Let's see how much longer they can carry on with this?
